heretoutopia, here. They've come out quite well, but you do not want to know how long it took me to code that lot...*brain hurts*
Also, however much of a stickler I am for punctuation, I always, always leave off the question marks when I first type something. I have to go back and put them in. I suspect this is the same glitch of the brain that makes me write 'e's on the end of random words when writing by hand. Some things just don't quite flow properly.
And I've been meaning to do this for ages... I can't think of anyone on my flist who wouldn't enjoy Dubious Doublets. It traces the etymology of apparently unrelated words, and is fascinating for dipping into. Mouse/muscle, aardvark/Porcelain and other unlikely relations are all included. There's a definite (and natural) American-English bias, but it doesn't make much difference really. Definitely recommended for a bit of light reading.
