Just to interject - I do agree that Jack/Gwen doesn't read or feel romantic to me, but it not being the 'same' doesn't mean that it's so fundamentally different that if he's in love with Ianto and wants to shag Ianto he's not in love with someone else at the same time, and also wants to shag them. People are different, interactions with people are different, and romance between individuals is different. I think that's the point she was getting at, actually: That Jack can love and want to screw Ianto, for being Ianto, and love and want to shag someone else at the exact same time. Gwen, the Doctor, Character Of The Week - and it doesn't take away from Jack/Ianto and implying that it does takes something away from the character.
