Finding the happy
Jun. 5th, 2007 11:16 amEDIT: Speaking of thing that are too good, I've just found that the group "Out of the blue" have a website with samples of their music. They're an all-male acapella group based in Oxford and recently came 2nd in the world championships. I've heard them live (on the street) a few times and am gutted that we can't make their concert on Saturday.
The site's here and is worth checking out if you're near a computer with a sound card! And yes, they really do sound like that live as well!
This is just too good.
I'm starting to a bit of reaseach (wiki, encyclopaedia britannica online, anything that I can click on) into the Second World War for a possible Jack-fic.
hellenebright has been an absolute star, and pointed me (amongst other directions) to the Double Cross system used by British intelligence.
But that's the not the good bit. In Wiki, one of the 'further reading' suggestions is an article in "International Journal of Intelligence and CounterIntelligence".
Let's just read that again, shall we? Yes, you read that right. It's a journal to talk about intelligence work. A journal for spies*. Is it just me who's a little bit amused by the idea of a publicly available journal for counterintelligence?
But the best bit? There's a copy here in Oxford. On an open shelf. Oh yes.
Guess what I'm doing after work today....
*Please, no-one point out to me that it isn't. I've read the blurb, I know what it's about really but the title is just too cool and has me squeeing round the workroom on a day when they're drilling next door. I need to find the happy somewhere...
