My writing really, really sucks at the moment, and I've been trying to boost my confidence a bit by reading over old stuff. Since it helped me no end, even giving me a plot bunny for my next story, I suggested to
fandom_me that we have an encouragement thread going over at her "help me break the comment limit" post.
The idea is that we all have bits of our writing when we really hit it. Language, imagery, story, tone, whatever. You read it back and you just think yup, that's what I was going for. In an attempt to encourage each other and ourselves, post that snippet here - anything from a line of dialogue to a couple of paragraphs. And do plug it in your own journals. I get the feeling we could all use a little encouragement at the moment.
I've got it going, but I want to see what you've got!
Edit: The thread is turning into a fantastic love-in and I'm rediscovering old favourites and reading new stuff and having an all-round wonderful time. Can't recommend it highly enough, and not just because it was my idea ;D
