So. I've been and gone and done it. Signed up for a Big Bang.
I'm kind of terrified, but Merlin fandom seems very, very friendly, so I'm hoping I can settle in and get writing. Once I get the story that's blocking me done, I'll be fine - does anyone else get that? There's a story I know I want to write, I'm having trouble writing it, but until I do, I just can't settle to anything else. It happens with tasks at work as well and is deeply annoying.
Anyhoo, I'm not sure what I'm going to write for this yet, but this is my sign-up:
Give a summary of your plot, if you have one: Oh good grief, this is going to go all mythic on me, I can already tell.
EITHER pre-S1, pre-Great Purge "Uther conquers Camelot" fic (because there used to be magic in Camelot and apparently it caused chaos, so what were things like then?), with Ygraine and Gaius/Alice and Balinor and probably a few dragons thrown in for good measure.
OR post-S5, taking the story of Myrddin Wyllt and fusing it with Merlin, combining that with Gwen-as-queen-of-Camelot fighting off the Saxons. I accidentally created head-canon for this with my first Merlin fic, and I want to know how that plays out.
Both will be Gen, although given my general geekery, they'll have to have warnings for dead languages...
This is a 30K Big Bang, which is a bit scary, as the only thing I've written above that is Resonance which...I don't hate, but isn't my favourite of my stories. I do love Dividing our Grief though, and it has now reached the status of head-canon for me. I try not to let fics do that, since I am a canon-slave (ask me again why I signed up to

But enough wibbly self-pitying! I'm going to get stuck into this and let it eat my brain for a while, but in the meantime, if anyone could volunteer as a cheerleader/Beta/handholder, I'd be most grateful (yes,
