I really hate the post-Eurovision speculation about voting. Frankly, I could care less about why each country voted for whom, because the fact that Israel has won three times proves to me that if Europe wants to, it can elect a relative outsider as a winner. And if people do vote because of various national loyalties? So what? It's the Eurovision. Everyone knows what's expected.

(As you might guess, the common local half-joking excuse for our not winning is that the rest are antisemites, which is the excuse I hate most in the world, because it is what it is, and because I know that deep down, a lot of people who use it really are only half-joking.)
