Happy list
Jun. 24th, 2008 10:29 amWell, it worked yesterday...
1. Lovely barbeque with friends last night. The weather held, my antihistamine held, and I was only bitten by one ant. Not too shabby.
2. This article. I love Caitlin Moran's writing, and I love Gok Wan. Brilliant piece.
3. This article.
rustydog, there some more signs for your collection...
4. It's moderately sunny here, even if it's freezing inside thanks to the air con.
5. Good natter over coffee with someone I haven't seen in a while. I recommend it as a way to start the day.
6. Slimming World tonight, which I always enjoy, even if I haven't lost.
7. Fic posted and out of my head.
8. Other fic starting to cooperate now that I've given up any hope of making it do what I want. It's definitely easier if I let it write itself.
9. Lunch with another friend tomorrow. At this rate, I'm going to have a social life. Scary.
10. Another list of happy things!
On the other hand, I'm tired enough to sleep at my keyboard this morning, thanks to my own complete inability to count. My antihistamines are supposed to be non-drowsy, but they also last for 24 hours. So taking one at 6.30 last night, and another at 7 this morning means I've taken twice the dosage, and even non-drowsy tablets start to make you sleepy after that. *facepalm* Ah well, as long as I don't operate heavy machinery or try to think too hard, it should be fine...

Date: 2008-06-24 10:25 am (UTC)Also, I'm pretty sure your fic isn't about Gok Wan. Not unless you changed it... Might want to fix that link ;)
Get you with the social life! Glad you're still feeling positive, despite the antihistimine overdose...

Date: 2008-06-24 10:31 am (UTC)Heh. There's a crack-fic prompt for you :) Fixed, thanks.
I know! It's weird, quite frankly. Who are all these people and why do they want to talk to me? Probably doing a lot for the still-positive feeling, as is the thought of having Friday off :D

Date: 2008-06-24 11:02 am (UTC)Four coffees later, I think I've reached a chemical balance, so hopefully no danger of acquiring interesting patterns, although I shall bear the warning in mind...

Date: 2008-06-24 02:49 pm (UTC)I'm hoping it'll be cool when I get to work. The one of the A/Cs broke thursday around noon- so we had no air in the back offices, but the main area was mostly fine (guess where I work though?) and on Friday it was stifling. In theory it was supposed to be fixed yesterday, I don't work Mondays though, but I'm a wee bit nervous as to whether or not they actually fixed it.

Date: 2008-06-24 02:53 pm (UTC)Ooh, that doesn't sound so good on the temperature front. We've more or less got ours sorted now, but the main library is chilly still. Although that's why we get lots of readers in the summer!

Date: 2008-06-24 03:04 pm (UTC)Mind you, some of the readers seem to have adopted the 'fewer clothes the better' approach. I mean, it's on the British summer, not the Bahamas. Seriously, sometimes even I don't know where to look...

Date: 2008-06-24 03:29 pm (UTC)I'm so with you on letting fics write themselves. I only wish i could plan them. *sigh*

Date: 2008-06-24 03:34 pm (UTC)I've given up trying to plan fics. I'm sticking with character+cliche=story, which seems to work for me :)
