Jul. 8th, 2008 10:10 amThanks for the help with drugs yesterday, guys. I knew you'd know...
Mind you, I feel like I took one of the recommended pills this morning. A combination of late-night upset stomach and early morning allergy attack has left me feeling like someone replaced my brain with cotton wool overnight. Anything to wake me up/make me giggle would be much appreciated.
I'm also attempting to write 32k over the next week or so. As I said to Z and Becky, don't bet against me yet, and don't be fooled by the fact that I've had to restart this story about nine times. That's not too bad for me, and now I've worked out that I need to stop worrying about what *happens* next and just worry about what the characters *do* next, it's going a lot smoother. Although any inspirational thoughts you care to send in my direction would not go amiss...
How is everyone? I had a nice discussion yesterday about the Who finale with someone I didn't know and completely disagreed with, and it was fun, and good-natured and interesting. It's nice to stretch some brain cells properly. Anything nice happen to anyone else lately? Come on, don't be shy. I'm going to be slogging for at least the next seven days, so I need my vicarious happies!

I'm not worried - the fic's going well, and I'm certain it's going to be brilliant. Just let John keep talking ;)
Good debates are good :) I love it when people can disagree like grown-ups.
Nice, um. Apart from my warm and fuzzy feelings towards the Due South fandom, and the fact it's sunny so far today... ooh, I has an interview tomorrow, which may or may not be good. The job sounds a bit (okay, a lot) dull, but it's only until October, so it might be alright...

Interview! Excellent! And boredom's definitely easier to bear if you know it's got a limited timespan on it...
Thanks :D

This made me smile. It also reminded me of my own approach to cooking. Are there chillis in the recipe? No? Why not? They got it wrong! *adds chillis*" :)

Date: 2008-07-08 10:07 am (UTC)Still smarting from the car situation and having to get to Cambridge by bus this morning and finding it takes three hours because it spends the greater part of one of those hours sitting in a bay at Bedford bus station...Argh! Public transport in this country is a joke, and not a very funny one.

Date: 2008-07-08 01:12 pm (UTC)heh. I've just finished my fourth coffee. No discernable effects so far, but you have to repeat experiments to be sure of the results...
*snorts coffee*
Oh that is wrong...

Date: 2008-07-08 01:19 pm (UTC)70k? All by yourself? I mean, I know Naye and Friendshipper hit that, but seriously? *mind boggles* You go, girl!
Well, it's just a little bit shy of 60K at this point, but with the length of the scenes, I won't be altogether too surprised if it hits the seventy marker before all is said and done. I can't stop to think about it too long, otherwise my mind starts boggling as well, because usually I have a hard time hitting 10K or 20K, not "Can I plz stop now and sleep? Kthnx." I might even have a title, which knowing me and title angst is just... I don't know, I think I've been possessed. By those Shakespeare typewriting monkeys.
I'm just about to break 10k and am very excited about it :)
10k is nothing to scoff at! I'm very excited for you too, and am cheering on the side -- I'm just sort of franticaly scribbling at the same time ;) We can do it! *\o/*

Date: 2008-07-08 01:28 pm (UTC)Thinking too hard about these things is always a bad plan. If it's going, it's going. Best not to worry too much.
Titles are weird things. Sometimes I get it right at the start, sometimes it comes to be halway through, and sometimes I tear my hair out until I find the right quotation :)
I'm quite pleased, especially since that's 10k (10,026 to be precise - woo hoo!) in 2.5 days - I didn't write on Sunday, and it's only the middle of the day here now. I need to pick up the pace to get done on time, but it's flowing now, so I'm not worried. Now I just have to convince the mods that I'm going to make it...
We can definitely do it! *waves pompoms*

Date: 2008-07-08 03:20 pm (UTC)On the funny side: I finally got a letter from my son who is at sleepaway camp. 2 lines- How's the cat, and are we taping Doctor Who for him. He has his priorities.

Date: 2008-07-08 03:29 pm (UTC)My son was VERY upset he'd be at camp for the Moffat episodes. If we didn't agree to tape them I could see him refusing to go to camp
