The image under the cut isn't a spoiler per se. It's from an upcoming episode, but there's no clue as to what's actually going on in the plot. Gakked from io9.com.

Date: 2008-10-03 08:41 am (UTC)(I semi-secretly hope they end up together. I have issues with Keller/Ronon that have very little to do with the show)
I think that must be "Brain storm" from what I've seen on Mallozzi's blog. Don't tell me anything else, I don't want to know!

Date: 2008-10-03 10:59 am (UTC)Ahem, sorry. The look on his Faaaaaaacceeeeee. There are so many interpretations of this (is it a goodbye? a 'thank god you're/we're alive?') and even if it's a precursor to her saying 'I can't' or something, we still get the scene itself. Also, did you see his thumb? Man HAS to bite his fingernails, I don't know any clipper that shears that close. Yes, I'm obsessed.
There's just... I think I'm actually a little in love with the character of Rodney, and just imagining him (rather than seeing it as David, I mean) in this position, with the look on his face, makes me ache for him, you know? He wants to be happy so much and OTP or not, I don't ever want to deny him that. I'll write around it when I write McShep, I'm okay with that, but gosh, just let him be happy! fdjslafkdsal

Date: 2008-10-03 11:20 am (UTC)ISN'T IT GORGEOUS???? I think I forgot to say 'btw Jennifer's there too' because I just got too distracted! The look on his face is just...just...*loses ability to speak*

Oh, now I know I love you ;) there'll be a manip soon, I'm sure! And yes, he just looks so everything in this picture, so totally overwhelmed, and it's all right there on his face. It just sort of sucks you in, doesn't it?
Also, you are definitly obsessed and Rodney is SUCH a nail-biter. *offers plot-bunny*
My name is Darsy, and I like to ramble...
Date: 2008-10-03 11:30 am (UTC)though, to some of the haters: please, hate her for HER, not for who she may or may not end up with, arghto a lot of people, I guess.Have you seen the extra huge version? I, PATHETICALLY, still have it up in a window 4368x2910 pixels o.O (http://pics.livejournal.com/dryope/pic/008p4rc0)! It's larger than life-size, haha. One thing seems clear--I don't think The Shrine was the last time David was given some meaty acting scenes.
I'm actually horribly affected by... I dunno, worries about readership when I think about writing gen, but I have always been attracted by the idea (which sounds all 'how quaint,' but in my mind it's more like 'I dunno if I'm that good'). Do you have any recs? My problem in reading it is that I tend to run across the 'pre-slash disguised as gen' so often that I can't wrap my mind around the good stuff being different, as I know it is. One of my favorite stories of all time is
This is really random of me, btw--as I don't think I've really thought about how I really feel about it till just now... Something tells me a good place to start would be your Big Bang ;) (I'm such a horrible Big Bang reader, argh. I guess my frustration with not finishing made me stupidly jealous and therefore made it hard to click...)

Date: 2008-10-03 11:54 am (UTC)Oh good lord I think you broke my brain. *melts* That's just...*flails* HUGE!
Readership *is* an issue when you write gen, especially in SGA where McKay/Sheppard is so dominant. As long as you accept that you're writing for your own pleasure rather than for others to read, it's fine - if you start comparing comment stats...well. It's easy to get down-hearted. My problem is that I read some wonderful slash stories that I think would have been improved by making them Gen (I won't name names, because it's not nice ;)). I have less of a problem with pre-slash, because the show itself plays with it so much. For me, the friendship should be strong enough that unless you specifically want to write *about* the relationship, it's not necessary to have it for there to be real and deep emotion involved. All my stories push the friendship angle as hard as I can, because often it's a more interesting and in some ways fragile thing than an actual, stated relationship. *tilts head* I'm think that made better sense in my head...
Thanks for the rec, btw - will check it out. And the following is why you should never ask a librarian for a list *cracks knuckles*

Of my stuff (http://jadesfire2808.livejournal.com/129762.html), I'm actually most proud of Bibula Harena (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_genficathon/9606.html), which is long, but not as long as Resonance (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=21). I do a good line in humour fic for SGA for some reason…

Hehehehehe. Nothing against Keller but in my world that is so not going to happen. Rodney is saying bye bye. He loves John and has finally realised it.
Oops - see what too much fizzy pop does for you...
