At a (old) dinner, I once declared that anyone who didn't wear a helmet to cycle, especially in Oxford, was an idiot. At which point someone pointed out to me that one of my bosses, sitting next to me, never did. After a brief DOH moment, I stuck to my guns, and she ended up being the one looking embarrassed, especially after I pointed out that a skull fracture would mess up her hair a whole lot more than a helmet...

One thing I've found brilliant about these posts is that it forces me to find the positives, even when I think things are terrible. It definitely helps to keep the FAIL-thoughts at bay :) Go you!
