Actually awesome

Today I am awesome because I got back on my bike! I'm still knackered at the moment, but I rode to and from work, which is a major, major win. I'm also tentatively starting to write again - something seems to have knocked me for six on that front lately, so I'm approaching with caution, but the words are just about there, I think.

What about you guys? Still out there? Still awesome?

The bike riding is a work in progress - it's so HARD! But going to be worth it in the long run, I hope.

Fandom obsessions and OTPs aside, I'm not attracted to men IRL very often, but ...he is just so beautiful. He's like, like some classical sculpture, and I swear he is at least part black/islander, and just...a sculpture. And his clothes fit well, and he smells SO GOOD. And he shaves his head. I can hardly look at him. O_O

I am awesome because I
a) went swimming after work
b) booked my car in for its mot
c) finally filled in the paperwork to take the ex off my medicash which saves me £30 a month
d) am going out with my nephew and his Doctor Who mad housemate. I think my nefarious plan to turn him to the dark side is working as he's just bought a pair of big boots and dyed his hair green...

This evening I started to figure out some of the history to a fantasy-type story that's been bugging me for a bit - I've got to know the main characters quite well, but I'm only just starting to see the story... so that's kind of awesome, and I should go write it down before I forget it!

Today I was awesome for going through the fridge and getting rid of everything that was stinky/slimy/icky/oh goodness how long has it been since I cleared out the back corner of that shelf/etc. (Subset of awesome: it wasn't as bad as I had expected, aside from that one corner, that is.)

Yay for the bike! Yay for approaching writing! *crosses fingers*

PS. Thanks to your writing-meme I've spent moments of my day pondering what colours the Hub was (or wasn't) painted at various times... So far the only one I like is 'alien hallucinogens => plaid' and I don't have a reason for why it was puce for a week, but I want to come up with one. I blame you! *pointy finger of mock-anger*

Thanks -- I think I cracked what I needed to know yesterday, and one of my teammates has some experience with it as well. The first trick was realizing that you can't have it on pause if you want to cut -- it has to be on stop. Thanks for nothin', help menu!
