For a general author rec, I present to thee, P.L. Wynter (), who writes lovely casefic with fun brotherly interactions for her longer stories, and the shorter ones I've read usually pack a punch of some sort (either funnay or touching).
My absolute favorite of hers is "Bite", which is pre-series, and a great look at the boys as teens, plus a complex, tough John Winchester. It's also atmospheric, creepy, and managed to give me goosebumps. I also recommend "Foreseen" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2705943/1/Foreseen) and "Piggy" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2784497/1/Piggy), which are also good casefic.
Forgive Me (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2672998/1/Forgive_Me) by Ridley C. James is also a good pre-series casefic. (I have a slight crush on John Winchester, I'll admit it.)
For nose-snortingly funny one-shots, I'd check out Koschka's two SPN fics: Walking to Albuquerque (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3988737/1/Walking_to_Albuquerque) and its sequel Purple Rain and the Greyound Blues (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4032815/1/Purple_Rain_and_the_Greyhound_Blues).
And... I can't seem to find the one shot and author that just about killed me ded with laughter. This is so going to bug me. I will return with a link on that if I ever find it. (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2746760/1/Bite)
