because the intermittently glowing light and occasional strange voices coming out of it are freaking me out That would freak anyone out. As did me walking into my mother's bathroom years ago - and I do mean years, it's probably more than 20 - and hearing this faint, tinny voice speaking French. It turned out it was coming from her, very new, 'top of the range' behind the ear hearing aid!
