A little help from my friends

I'm trying to sort out the prompts for bringthehappy (all 780 of them) and I need some help with fandoms.

Specifically, I've got "DC Comics" "DCUniverse" "DCU" and "DCAU", which I'm assuming are at least 3 different things, but I can't be sure... I think I've got this now...

Also do people know generic comms for TV, Book and other fandoms that I can promote to? The full list of things that make me go 'um' is under the cut. If anyone could say "this is a good comm to catch these 20 fandoms", I will love you forever. There are about one hundred and eighty fandoms here. Oh, and it doesn't include all the crossovers and the one RPF prompt I got *boggles*

I'm not asking you to do the promoting for me unless you want to, but I do need to know where to go! Most fandoms have a newsletter/central comm, so that's the name I'm after. I've already crossed out the ones I know about.

"DC Comics," "DC Universe" and "DCU" should be the same thing. If you want to e-mail me the DCAU prompts, I'll see if I can make sense of them.

Good Omens: There's lower_tadfield and stjamespark, and there's also neil_gaiman for everything Neil Gaiman. There must be some Pterry comm that would catch Discworld and GO, but I don't know what it is.

Star Wars: The only newsletter I know of is jedi_news, but I asked them to promote Bringthehappy, and I don't think they did. If the prompts are Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan I can help, otherwise not so much.

SG-1: The newsletter I'm familiar with is sg1_debrief.

DCAU ie DC Animated Universe is also known as "toonverse". It's the WB cartoons with DC characters, in the style of the 1940s Superman cartoons. The toons are: Batman, Batman Beyond, Gotham Girls (online only), Superman, Justice League and Teen Titans. Bruce and Clark were often in each others show, and Justice League included Diana, and pretty much the rest of the DCU.

dollverse, I think, is the main comm for Dollhouse.
trek_news is the newsletter comm for Star Trek.
bcc_merlin_news for Merlin.

You've got both Dresden Files and The Dresden Files in your book list, scrap the second and it will make your list shorter.

I can't use crossover fic, since they don't let 'general' comms promote - I might ask, but I think I might have more luck with fandom_of_one and that_other_show.

For the anime and manga, you could simply post at manga. I can pimp it at one or two Fullmetal Alchemist communities. Oh, and the difference between anime and manga is simply that manga = comic books, and anime = animated cartoons (often adaptions of manga) :0)

I don't know of a central comm for The Mentalist but there is mentalistlist they seem to be quite active.
