jadesfire: Fake road sign reading "this is a good sign" (Good sign)

1. Thanks for all the suggestions yesterday, folks. I'd forgotten about White Collar, in particular, which absolutely used to be my happy place. The other one I'd forgotten was Burn Notice, which is perfect popcorn TV. I really must pick up Leverage somehow, as Hustle is another longterm favourite, but Leverage is the one that has fannish traction. They shall keep me company as I sift through piles of books this afternoon.

2. At about 1pm yesterday, my energy levels fell off a cliff. I'm still not 100% sure what happened, as despite being sluggish all weekend, I felt okay yesterday morning. But I had my lunch, stood up and BOOM. I just wanted to lie down and cry. Which I did when I got home. I then fell asleep at 9.15, slept straight through to 3.45, turned over and slept on until 6. I'm groggy today, and naturally, it's the day when I have a 20 minute walk to a lunchtime talk. Considering it took me over 10 minutes to finish the 5 minute walk to the bus stop this morning, I must remember to allow extra time. And take my bus card.

3. Listening to Verity! has made me realise that while I know quite a bit about Doctor Who, there are huge gaps in my knowledge, both of Classic and New Who. So while trying not to fall asleep at 6.30 last night, I slowly and carefully wrote out a complete list of Doctor Who serials into the back of my notebook. Colour-coded of course. I've been trying to work my way through Twelve's episodes, before the new series hits, but honestly, I'm getting bogged down in the middle of his first series. Maybe I should put that on in the background instead, and not worry too much about paying attention. Anyway, the local library has a HUGE collection of Classic DVDs, so I think I might invest some time this year in catching up with older Doctors.

4. One thing I did find yesterday, which I already knew but always forget, is that jobs are bigger in my head than in real life. A bit like this:

Yesterday, I got through a big pile of classifying that's been on my window since August in just a few hours, and will be able to finish it this morning before coffee. I'm hoping if I say this out loud then it will remind me that the trick is to just start rather than saving blank time for it. There will never be 'the right time' to do any of these jobs. I just need to do them.

5. Big decision of the week: Do I book to see Black Panther in 3D or 2D? I've never seen a film in 3D, as I wear glasses for short-sightedness, but I have a feeling if ever there was one to try, this might be it, especially as I can use one of my free tickets to see it. Any thoughts, people? I don't generally get motion sick, I get migraines but they're not caused by external factors, and I'm moderately short sighted and have to wear glasses all the time. Opinions? Experiences? Worth it?
