Drabble Fest
Sep. 18th, 2007 10:01 amEDIT: Drabble fest now closed! I have 21 prompts (eek!) so hopefully eventually finish some time over the weekend...
Thanks!
Everyone seems very 'meh' at the moment, so I thought it would be good to cheer things up a bit. Last time that happened, I ended up opening another comm, but as I'm already modding three, I figure I should keep things a little more contained this time.
Every now and then, when the mood takes me, I hold a drabble fest, in which I offer to write drabbles or ficlets on demand and on prompt.
Well, I'm in the mood, so prompts are now OPEN. As I'm also feeling slightly dappy, I'm particularly asking for crossover prompts, but that's not compulsory. Just a word or a phrase or a quote plus a fandom (or two) will do nicely.
This is open to anyone at all - regulars or if you've just wandered in randomly. *waves* Nice to see you. Have a seat, have a drink and can I offer you a drabble? And yes, I know I already owe people drabbles already, but I know what they're going to be, I just haven't put words round them yet.
The list of fandoms is below, so take your pick and prompt away! I'll keep it open until at least tomorrow morning so hopefully timezone issues can be dealt with...
Fandoms
Doctor Who (Preferably New Who, but any except the First Doctor)
Torchwood
House
Buffy (to the end of Season 6)
Angel (Seasons 1 and 2)
Star Trek (any but Enterprise)
Criminal Minds
Terry Pratchett
Stargate SG1 (I've read SGA but not seen any yet...)
Sapphire and Steel

Date: 2007-09-18 10:02 am (UTC)How about some Buffy. Giles (by himself or with anyone else you care to put him with). Prompt: watch (as in wristwatch, not Watcher - or both, if you like!)
Hmm. I need a Giles icon. Have Nearly Naked Jack instead :-)

In the end, he took the watch off and put it in his desk drawer. Of course, there was still the clock on the wall, but he could turn his back to that. And since there was still no computer in the small office, he could completely avoid having to see the time.
He couldn't watch the seconds tick past, waiting and wondering where she was. When she was going to come home. If she was going to come home. It was better that way. Because even without a clock to count the seconds, it always felt like too long.

Child's Toy (4): _I_E
This was one thing he understood, these games, the obsession with finding answers. As Steel made the three strokes for 'K' and the two for 'T', he listened to the house, quiet around them at last. They were finished here, mission accomplished and disaster averted, narrowly as ever.
His puzzle was solved, he had no more interest in the place. And yet he completed the crossword in bold, clear letters, as though that was the true end to their task, feeling a final connection to the humans whom they'd once again rescued from their own folly.

Date: 2007-09-18 12:24 pm (UTC)Torchwood/Stargate SG-1: (Special bonus if you include Thor *g*) Torchwood has something that the SGC thinks should be theirs. Jack & Jack interaction, maybe a bit of Daniel and Ianto too *g*

OK, so Lorne is in SGA more than SG1, but that's a technicality. And you know their characterisation well from TIC (trust me, Lorne's player has nailed him completely - snarky, clever, given to understatement etc).
If you're not feeling up to that, then I'd like Ianto/Nas, Jack/Hywel, Jack/Hugh, or all of the above. And yes, those are slashes ;)
Your prompt (for whatever you choose) is Rugby (as in the sport, not the place).
