I had a trip to the dentist this morning. In my past experience, this has never been a particularly unpleasant experience as, for various reasons, my teeth are fairly good. So it came as something of a shock when the dentist announced that they were in a terrible state, that my oral hygiene was clearly appalling and that, instead of losing my teeth at 70 I was far more likely to lose them at 60. Oh, and did I want to pay £42 ($80) now and £15 ($28) next time for her to clean them, or did I want to pay £100 ($189) to be under anaesthetic while they cleaned them. And I had to decide there there and then. Incidentally, I went for the cheaper one, which took all of four minutes.
Not surprisingly, I came out shaking and almost hysterical. I'm going back to my dentist in London - at least he treats me like a human being.
Then I managed to delete an entire database. You know, MS Access should really label things better. The option I selected said 'data entry' not 'press this if you never want to see your data again'. Fortunately, it was on a server that's backed up tonight, but as I'm still shaken from the dentist, it was more than my nerves could stand. It's all sorted out now, but I'm feeling totally washed out and have to work til 8 tonight. Should not have bothered getting out from under the duvet this morning.

Actually, I should have also warned you guys to expect lots of questions over the next few weeks - I've started work on the West Wing thing, and have more questions than paragraphs at the moment...
