Completely random question

My mind has gone completely blank and the internet's no help for this.

I need a list of dead x-men, preferably the ones that stuck, so Psylocke and Colossus and, obviously, Jean Grey, don't count. I can only think of Thunderbird at the moment...any advance on that?

Douglock and Magik from New Warriors stayed dead (well, mostly), and Synch and Skin from Gen X, if teen teams count (and really, if anyone is going to stay dead, it's a second sringer from a teen team). Banshee has managed to stay dead for some time now, but I don't think it'll stick forever.

Thanks! I can definitely use some of these - I only need a few, but my mind went utterly blank :)

That "stayed dead" bit is the hard part... All of the team were assumed dead at one point (Storm, Cyclops, Rogue, Longshot, Nightwing, Wolverine, Shadowcat and I forget who else) but they weren't really dead.

I'm pretty sure Gambit was killed not to long ago. Err... not sure who else though

*grin* It never quite seems to stick, does it?

And, what???? NOOOOOOO!!! Gambit is the WHOLE reason I got into X-men in the first place. I shall have a serious sulk if they killed him off...

Seriously? He was my reason too. I'm not 100% he's still dead... My husband follows comics better than I do, I'll ask him when I get off work tonight, although the answer won't reach you until late (4 hours from now)

okay.. looked it up "Gambit joined Apocalypse, became "Death" (X-Men #184, 2006)" not sure what that means...

It means he became one of Apocalypse's enforcers - probably not willingly either.

*nods* I've read the summaries, but not the books yet. I'm just relieved he's not dead!

Phew! I knew about that.

*grin* I seem to have a thing about rogues... I even have an unfinished Gambit piece lurking around here somewhere :)

This might be helpful:

although it doesn't break them down by team

that's just what I was looking for! Thank you :)

Colossus came back. He got Jossed. Literally!

*grin* Yup, I've read those ones. Not much more convincing than Betsy's return, I have to say...

Good news, according to hubby Gambit is not dead anymore. Mimic, however, the only non-mutant human to be an X-Man has died and stayed dead. Oh, Thunderbird was alive again at some point, but he's not sure if Thunderbird's died since or not

That might be an alternate Thunderbird though (Exiles), plus at least one other person in the 616 universe has worn the name Thunderbird since.

*brain hurts* is pretty much a good description of the result of trying to follow the long term plot of any comic book.

Yeah, if a character isn't treating death like a revolving door in comics, a million and one alternates pop up.

Sometimes it's actually nice to know that a character has an excuse for it, like Jean has.

Ooh, I'd forgotten Mimic. He's just what I was looking for :) Thanks!
