Thump. Thump. Thump.

Drillllllllllllllll
Thump. Whirrrrrrr. Booooooom
Drilllll.
Thump.
These are the noises I can currently hear as they demolish the wall not 4 feet from my left ear. Ok, so they're demolishing the wall on the other side of the one by my ear, but you wouldn't know it from the noise. Actually, the thumping is a new development. Until noon, we had two different types of big drills, plus the little one they were using to block off my window. So I now have no natural light, loud banging noises and desk that vibrates. Which might be fun under different circumstances, but when I've got to put coffee on it, it's less good.
We had some jovial men in florescent jackets come and take a picture of my wall and look at the wall above the ceiling tiles. They warned me that the noise is only going to get worse and, if it gets too bad, I'm going to have to move. The drawback is that there's nowhere to move to unless my manager takes pity on me and lets me share her office. It's a whole ten metres further away from the drilling.
Oh, and, if I'm really unlucky, it may get a bit draughty. They're not intending to drill through my wall, but, hey, accidents happen.
I am investing in a hard hat, ear muffs and the loudest music I can find.
And a shot gun, just in case.
