Not quite a year in writing.

This was going to be a year’s round-up, then I discovered that I’ve only been a member of LJ since July, but what's a few months between friends? It's also useful to me, as I'm hopeless with tags and keep losing things. Getting better with labels is going to be my New Year's Resolution, I think...
There's a surprising amount of writing for me for such a short time, and I've even learned to trust betas - yes, there are other people out there who understand commas. So, with special thanks to
perspi,
nightdog_barks and
pwcorgigirl, a better and wiser woman notes the following:
1. Fandoms are better shared. Even if the other half does insist on calling everyone out there my “imaginary friends.”
2. Grammar matters to me more than I thought.
3. Although role-play makes writing characters easy, I have to actually find a plot in order for the story to work. Huge gratitude to the plot bunny corral at The Clinic
4. Few things are more exciting than checking my email in the morning to find I have comments.
5. I can walk in 1 inch heels after all. [ok, so that’s got nothing to do with writing. I’m just feeing rather proud of myself ;)]
I’ve also learned that it’s easier to keep up with a fandom when it’s actually on the TV, hence the current Torchwood writing fest. Will no doubt pick up with House again once it’s back on Channel Five.
Oh, and if anyone actually catches me writing the Buffy/Torchwood Crossover that’s brewing in my brain, please shoot me….
Writing Round Up:
Everything's Gen, BTW, as I have yet to write anything else!
House
The Remedy
Foreman (with some assistance from House) helps Chase deal with his grief.
Slamming Doors (Drabbles)
House and Stacy, through the years
New Jersey Tea Ceremony (50 word drabbles)
Wilson finds comfort in an old ritual
House Warming
So, what did happen when House moved (with apologies for the pun)
They Also Serve
Why is House lurking in the hospital basement all night?
Looking In
Cameron gets a perspective on House (written for the Halloween "Come as you aren't" party)
Traction
When Wilson injures himself, House rushes to the rescue
Song for the Asking (Drabbles)
A biography of Cuddy, using song titles. (yes, it's that meme that went round!)
Ghosts of Christmas Past
A contemplative House at the end of the year.
Yours, mine and his
Three people, three perspectives, one story.
With a short moment’s silence for the two stories that didn’t make it, "Conclusions" and "Playtime", one because it was too self-indulgent (and the idea later cropped up on the show) and the other because it turned out to be unwritable. *doffs cap* They have donated their paragraphs for the benefit of future writing.
Torchwood
Truth or Dare
A game of cards, Torchwood-style
Ghosts of Christmas Past
Some of us have more to remember than others.
There is much, much, much more to come here. No, even more than that. You have been warned....

Date: 2007-01-06 12:17 am (UTC)All your House stuff is wonderful, but "Yours, Mine and His" is just incredible -- a Faberge' egg of a story.
*tiny voice*
You need to recheck your links, though. They aren't working.

Date: 2007-01-08 12:37 pm (UTC)Also, gen? So with you there. I'll read almost anything House, but apparently I can't write pairing fics. I think it's because the show is so very, very gen. It's pretty remarkable for any TV show to go two entire seasons without and romantic plots, other than one Cam/Chase scene and one House/Stacy (who isn't even a regular character).
Hope you go back to writing House soon :-)

Date: 2007-01-08 01:28 pm (UTC)I'm sure the House inspiration will return soon, once I get the Torchwood fics off my brain...
