It's so cold! When I got up this morning, the sky was the most amazing colour, with a blood red streak all across the horizon. It could have been 'red sky in the morning', although I half-hoped it was the result of a sacrifice to the weather gods, placating them so that they'd let it warm up later in the day.

Anyway, the river at the bottom of the garden has actually frozen now, something that hardly ever happens. So I thought it warranted some pictures. Apologies for slight blurriness on some of them - I refused to take my gloves off to take them!

This is pretty much the view from the study window every morning.

Two shots of the frozen river. I'm not sure how thick it is, but I'm pretty sure a duck could walk on it. Now all I need to do is find a duck and test my theory...

Oh dear, WANTS THE COLD SO BAD!!!

It's so hot here, 34C!! Yesterday was 34C too, and so is tomorrow. I'm just gonna sit in front of the computer and melt... that is if the computer doesn't explode first.

Oh yuk. 34C is just grim to try and work in. I think I'd become nocturnal at that point...

I think I'd rather see a duck-walkable river than one at my back door! I'm loving this cold weather, means I can wear my big coat, boots and sunglasses without getting funny looks. Winter is the best season for a goth.

We had a gorgeous sunset yesterday, but I wasn't up for the sunrise this am!

The pics are lovely btw, I'm so jealous of you having such wonderfulness by your house.

Pretty when it's not encroaching on your garden. :)

cold here this morning. I really wish I could have got a picture of the sunrise. We had very pretty sundogs. Sadly my photographic skillz/equipment don't extend far enough to photograph tricks of the sunlight.

That is so pretty. I love frozen water. (I see it so seldom!)

You could slide things across to see if the ice holds them. Things you don't mind losing if the ice breaks, of course.

the pics are pretty. And here we're getting a respite from the cold. It's 50F. Of course tomorrow we're back to the cold.

In the summer the river is at the bottom of the garden, and in the winter the garden is at the bottom of the river?
