I have been having thinky thoughts lately, and too many of them. There may be meta to follow, once I work out what it's going to be about...
However, it's all gone out of the window after reading this article at the BBC news site. Headline: Stars 'sign on to Wolverine film'
But the bit that's driven all the thinky thoughts out of my head? I mean, Hugh Jackson's alright and he made an awesome Wolverine, but really, it was something a bit further down that caugh my attention:
"Taylor Kitsch, from hit US football drama Friday Night Lights, has also signed on to appear as the famous card-throwing character, Gambit.">
*faints*
I had to look him up at IMDB and YES! For me, he's not quite good looking enough, but he's just the right type, especially in some of those pictures from The Covenant. I was really into X-men fandom before I had an LJ. Or rather, I was really into Gambit fandom, which is considerably smaller and just as nuts. We were so disappointed to only get a namecheck on the screen, that the thought of actually having Gambit, right there, in the film...*runs out of words*. Especially with Wolverine, because they make such a great double act.
Please, Fox, don't screw up my favourite X-man. Please? *begs*

Date: 2008-02-20 03:36 pm (UTC)If he can pull of the accent (I'm assuming he can act...) then I'm going to be in fan-heaven, because he's got JUST the right look. We'll only have waited 10 years for this...

Date: 2008-02-20 04:09 pm (UTC)I'm dizzy that they've decided to put him in, and terrified that it's going to be a mess and I'm going to have to cry *cough*Cyclops*cough* For now, I'm going for a cautiously optimistic approach - a lot will depend on how good the actor is with SFX, on the basis that he's going to have to put up with a hell of a lot of them...
