Uber-quick drive-by fic-question, before this muse gets away from me again...

Is Rodney's love of jello canon or fanon? I know that the MRE thing is canon, but I couldn't remember about the jello.

I would swear I saw a repeat of an older episode the other day where someone put a tray of food in front of Rodney and he asked if there was blue Jell-O because that's his favorite.

That was what was going through my head as well...I just couldn't quite place the reference and wasn't sure if I'd read it or seen it. From the below, it looks like we both have better memories than we give ourselves credit for :)

*thinks* I'm reasonably certain it's canon, although I'm sure the blue jello thing comes from SG-1 not SGA. I seem to remember a conversation/argument between him and Sam where they're in the canteen at Cheyenne Mountain, and someone says something about jello and he asks if they have the blue one.

It's entirely possible I'm making all this up...

I obvioulsy imagined that bit - it was Sam who picked up the blue jello, not Rodney *facepalm*

In the episode, "The Game," I believe it's Rodney who offers an attractive off-worlder blue jello when she visits, as if he's showing her the local delicacy.

He also eats it when waiting to hear if Sheppard is going to live in "Conversion". I think it's comfort food for him - above all others - we never see him eat chocolate, and we only see him eat power bars twice.

So your question brings to mind another SG-Jello related question. Is there ever Jello shown that isn't blue? I always notice the blue Jello (I think it's Sam's fave too). But don't remember any other color shown...

Now I'm curious, I'll have to watch closer.
