...I just deleted a load of tracks off my MP3 player so I could fit Podfic onto it. Considering my MP3 player is 8GB, I'm not sure whether to feel proud or worried. At least 1/3 of that is spoken word of some description - Radio 4 podcasts, Terry Pratchett books, a Doctor Who book, and now SGA podfic. I've got 2 Torchwood stories, and will put some more on once I work out what I can delete without missing. There's not as much choice in Torchwood audiofic - I know you guys like talking, so where are you all? Hmmm?

I'm also looking at microphones on Amazon, trying to work out which is the best to buy. Any recommendations? Something that's good for both speech and singing would be ideal, but I'll settle for just speech.

I have 3 stories in mind to read - one by Becky, one by Z and one by Chrys (er...assuming the latter two let me...must remember to ask them...). If they go alright, I'll start looking around for more, and maybe pluck up the courage to read some of my own. The SGA standard practice is not to attempt the accents, which seems very, very wise. No-one wants to hear me attempt a Welsh accent, and the less said about my American attempts, the better. I'll also take requests, assuming people can stand the sound of my voice. I'm writing a list, so get in early!

We're off out for the day, and I hope to come home to lots of helpful comments and some more Tardis Big Bang entries. I've had 6 already, and had too much fun skimming through them. My inner-beta forced me to make some suggestions to people, which I only feel vaguely embarrassed about - it's worse to say these things later and have people say "but why didn't you tell me in the first place?" My main concern now is that tomorrow's the deadline, we've got 90ish writers signed up and only 6 stories in. I think I'm about to lose a week of my life to Whoniverse fic.

*grin* Can't think of a better cause.

I haven't actually listened to any of them - I didn't get on too well with Border Princes, so haven't ventured into any of the others. But I'll let you know if I spot them :)

I really hope you all manage to not be entirely broken by incoming stories - and I think beta suggestions are good things to offer, especially when you're going over drafts.

I've kind of got half an eye on recording the whole of Sic Transit Tempus, including everyone's stories, but I think that's a project for another lifetime month ;) Although maybe it could make a nice sideline while I'm ploughing my way through the Big Bang stories!

I read my first Torchwood fanfic, but now I do regret posting it because I hate my recorded voice and I what my accent does to stuff that's read out loud. I suppose that means I won't record any of my fics again, ever. =)
