I thought I'd set my friends filter to 'journals only' and just see what people were up to in the, oh, 36 hours or so that I was offline.
When I hit skip=60, my eyes began to cross. When I hit skip=100, I wondered if I was ever going to eat again this century.
Seriously, folks? You've been quiet all week, and you choose the one day my back is turned to go postaly on me? I haven't seen Doctor Who yet, and love you all to pieces for your judicious lj-cuts, and won't be venturing near the comms until I'm caught up. From the looks of it, some of you had more dramatic times than others. Hope all blood pressure is now returned to normal.
What isn't normal is that overnight I seem to have caught a horrible cold. Again. The last one was a cough and sinus pain and fatigue without much sniffing. This one, I'm going to have to buy Sainsbury's entire supply of tissues. Then go to Tescos. Those of you in the Oxford area, if you see a big red glowing light coming from north Oxford tonight, yup, that's my nose. Ow ow ow ow ow.
I will catch up as best I can, when I can, as well as reporting on my exciting trip into the wilds of Essex and the lovely people I found there. So if you get a comment on a days old post, yup, that's me too :)
On the other hand, you could all save my achingnose brain and let me know in a comment what I missed. *flutters eyelashes* Or link me to something you read/saw that made you happy/cross/blink/yell at the computer.
I'm off to get more tissues...
ETA: Damnit, people, give me a chance here! Every time I try to skip back a page, the same stuff appears because you're all still posting. *flails* Right. That's it. Time for some comm-trimming. Again. *goes to look for scissors*

Date: 2008-04-20 06:08 pm (UTC)It's just so annoying, because I have to go to work tomorrow - having had most of last week off, I can't go down with something new this week. Grrr. At least if I sneeze at everyone they might send me home again. *sigh*

Date: 2008-04-20 10:19 pm (UTC)I had to unwatch the big comms, so I'm sorta depending on the kindness of
strangersflisters to let me know if something interesting shows up!(no subject)
Date: 2008-04-21 09:20 am (UTC)I'm much the same with the comms - I'd left the Atlantis ones on, but I'm just getting submerged. People are generally good about picking up the interesting stuff, and there's always the newsletters. *goes to defriend*

Date: 2008-04-21 02:40 am (UTC)I didn't post all weekend either, but I visited a pony, saw lots of flowers, made custard, and had a conversation about death. More fun than one person can handle!
::gives you tea:: (Don't mind the baby panda.)

*cuddles panda and takes tea* Thanks
Hops over from Smithy's
Date: 2008-04-21 03:47 pm (UTC)The rotten swines! My f-list do that to me too :s
I have to come to poke you, for you have pictures of Essex? Smithy told me to come and poke you I swear. I can see you are in recovery mode so you may take your time *huggles* (but I would dearly love to see them sometime pretty please?)

Date: 2008-04-22 08:23 am (UTC)I'm mostly recovered now, thanks, although I'm still making a single handed attempt to keep Kleenex in business...

Kleenex Balsam tissues are lifesavers, I always have a box somewhere in my house just in case.

Date: 2008-04-22 07:38 am (UTC)There's an SGA rec in my most recent post. Ignore the pr0n, and read it anyway - I've linked to my deli.cio.us account, so click on the top link (the third in a series). It's cliched, but it's done so well, and the character voices are perfect. There's a good reason why 'aliens made them do it' is a fanfic cliche :)
