donutsweeper for a well-deserved 1st place in the Last Fic Writer Standing contest! *waves pom poms*
I scraped through, with some nice comments, some fair crit and some that made me go o.O (which I have stropped suitably about and am now ready to move past. Mostly) and I'm waiting to see the next prompt before deciding whether or not to stay in the challenge. If I can't give it my full attention, I don't want to play at all - at the moment, my ego can't take the bashing of just about scraping through each time. We'll see.
#2. My SGA pinch-hit is now my Halloween costume, so look out for that in...eep!...three days!
#3. I have a Torchwood fic that I started in the wrong place and have to re-write, and a Doctor Who fic that suddenly acquired a shedload of Welsh mythology. How do these things happen to me?
#4. I'm surviving reference enquiries, although damn I need to learn my databases better. Somehow it doesn't seem to have registered in my head that switching to a new subject means I have to learn new stuff. I picked up the basics quickly enough, but now it's the details that are giving me headaches. Ah well, good job I like learning.
#5. iTunes U is incredibly cool. I'm about to sit down to listen to some film lectures from MIT while I do some ordering. This could get addictive, especially since it's all free...
#6. I'd recommend anything bymiss_porcupine [gen, military themed, SGA-fic], without reservation, but Five differences between the Air Force and the Marines had me almost choking on my porridge. Seriously, put down all drinks, foodstuffs and breakables before reading. But do read.
Other than that, my Tuesday has been uneventful so far. Hope it's smooth sailing for you guys too!
