zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Good morning. I think. We've got the edge of the snow that's been blanketing the country again, which mostly means everything is wet, slushy and cold. The perfect Monday morning in other words.

Did everyone have a good weekend? Despite being a little spaced-out right now, I had a lovely time with [livejournal.com profile] aeron_lanart and [livejournal.com profile] laurab1 on Saturday, and am most sad that the Steampunk exhibition is now closed, for it was of teh awesom. Most of yesterday was spent typing (for money, but typing nonetheless) or moping. My brain is stuck in a permanent fug right now - no matter how much I sleep, I just seem to get more tired. I can't work out if I'm sleeping too much, not enough, at the wrong times (I've always been a 'before midnight' person, but those hours are getting fewer right now) or what. I just know that I'm sick of feeling as though someone stuffed my head with cotton wool when I wasn't looking.

I'd love to say "so I'm going to pull myself together and do something about it" but honestly, I don't have the energy right now. So instead, I'm going to slope off and attempt to achieve something so I feel like a little less of a slacker than I do right now.

It has to be said that crossing things off my Big Giant List does make me feel much better, especially on a Monday morning. What about you guys? Any guaranteed pick-me-ups to get a slow week rolling?

To have one wasted coach journey might be considered a misfortune...

I'm feeling distinctly picked-on here. The plan had been to use my coach journeys to get some writing done, but on the way out, there were two guys at the back of the bus talking at the tops of their voices. While it was an interesting study in how swearing can become a form of verbal punctuation, I finally decided it was a bad idea to turn and glare at them when I heard one of them say "I really need to get to the doctor to get more meds". You know. Just in case.

Now, there is someone speaking what I think is either Romanian or Hungarian so loudly that I can hear him over my iPod, which is also turned up louder than I usually have it. I wish I was less English or that I'd chosen a better seat to glare at him from. Just to add insult to injury, I managed to run the 300 metres or so for the bus and make it, which was quite the achievement. While I was fumbling for my ticket and feeling quietly pleased with myself that I hadn't passed out or thrown up (maybe I'm fitter than I think), the driver said that I clearly needed more practice. This from a man sitting behind the wheel of a large, motorised vehicle. Yeah. Thanks for that.

*sigh*

However, I am determined not to be deterred. I have Rusty's magic writing mix* and a laptop and I'm not afraid to use them.

*turns up bon jovi*

*It's a Torchwood mix from a few years ago and it's yet to let me down. I'm starting to save it for emergencies in case it wears off, but I think this definitely counts.
