zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Good morning. I think. We've got the edge of the snow that's been blanketing the country again, which mostly means everything is wet, slushy and cold. The perfect Monday morning in other words.

Did everyone have a good weekend? Despite being a little spaced-out right now, I had a lovely time with [livejournal.com profile] aeron_lanart and [livejournal.com profile] laurab1 on Saturday, and am most sad that the Steampunk exhibition is now closed, for it was of teh awesom. Most of yesterday was spent typing (for money, but typing nonetheless) or moping. My brain is stuck in a permanent fug right now - no matter how much I sleep, I just seem to get more tired. I can't work out if I'm sleeping too much, not enough, at the wrong times (I've always been a 'before midnight' person, but those hours are getting fewer right now) or what. I just know that I'm sick of feeling as though someone stuffed my head with cotton wool when I wasn't looking.

I'd love to say "so I'm going to pull myself together and do something about it" but honestly, I don't have the energy right now. So instead, I'm going to slope off and attempt to achieve something so I feel like a little less of a slacker than I do right now.

It has to be said that crossing things off my Big Giant List does make me feel much better, especially on a Monday morning. What about you guys? Any guaranteed pick-me-ups to get a slow week rolling?

Morning hugs.

It's just raining here and I have to go out with the dog before uni. I was going to write/study and instead I'm recovering from a manic weekend. I have a TW fic I'm struggling to write. It's my last commitment but I'm failing to finish it.

Anyway, *hugs* again.

At least it sounds like you had a fun weekend :) I know the feeling about struggling to write. At the moment, the Douglas Adams quote has never been so appropriate:

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by

Well, I'm currently listening to The Tragically Hip (http://www.thehip.com/mp/index.html?UserID=) on my computer, which is cheering me right up :) I don't think you'll like them, but you did ask... Alternatively, there's The Daily Otter (http://dailyotter.org/), which made me squeak loudly :D

Heh, the music's okay. I wouldn't *listen* to it, but it makes a change from R4 ;)

Otters, of course, are always of teh awesome :)

I danced in the snow at 6:30 am on Sunday morning (which was when I finally got home) which was fun, and then spent the rest of the day doing nothing and feeling very decadent.

Today I have to post the skirt I sold on eBay, tidy the house, make some furniture, go shopping and watch Being Human. What am I doing?
Sitting in my pyjamas reading LJ... oh and catching up on more Babbage and Lovelace (which apparently my geeky 2 eldest nephews also adore).

Have some Monday Hugs.... ((((Jades))))

Glad the skirt sold! Sounds like a really good day - try to catch up on sleep at some point?

Have a good Monday :)

Lets see, I am sitting at my desk in work wondering how I can not be at my desk in work:).. But as we have exams next week, I need to be at my desk at work:/.. I am gettign a tad fed up with the snow.. . or rather the Ice.. Thursday night Coventry was snowed in, took me 2 hours to get hom and it annoyed my dodgy knee and hip doing it...:/ so missed work on friday (luckily i had hours in lieu so its not affected my holiday yet). but the ice is gettting to be a pain..

I wort 4000 words for a scene that is stuck in my head and has nowhere to go, and which i havn't yet figured out what i am going to do with and i finally got round to putting one of my scribblings up on LJ.. which i am proud off because i don't usually put my drawings up for viewing.. (i have issues) but it was on my list of "to do":D iam trying to get over said issues.

Don't push yourself too hard or you will make yourself depressed more because you are not doing the thing you want to do.. if the big stuff looks too big then try and do the smaller stuff, then you get the boost of knocking the off your list, making your list smaller and more easy on the eye:D

Yeesh, yeah, ice is such a pain. Our snow has now melted in the rain, although I'm not sure that's an improvement...

Your drawing is awesome (I managed to miss it in the fug last week :S) and I'm so glad you decided to post it. It can be really hard sometimes, I know - not having written in ages, I'm right there with you - but it's worth it, taking it in baby steps as you say. I've done some little things and amused my colleagues with my giant colourful list. Somehow things are less scary when written in purple felt-tip ;)

i am trying to figure out what to do next..

*waves* Hi! It's been raining on us all day, and I'm knackered. I think it's the weather that's draining you like this - I'm getting the same effect. I'm permanently tired and pretty much permanently cold.

Work is okay - we're currently undergoing Project 'Why Desk Jockeys Shouldn't Write Engineering Manuals', and I'm the one who's going through the strip/build of equipment in order to find everywhere they've cocked up.

I'm having the opposite problem with writing - too much to write and not enough time to do it in. There's two fics clamouring for my attention, and three more that are quietly waiting to pounce. At least I won't get bored . . .

I think you have a good point about the weather. Having my light on is helping a little, but I really can't wait for it to stop raining :S
