I've travelled a few times with people who needed assistance, and it was usually well done. This is pretty much a textbook case of "How Not To Do It Unless You Want People Bombarding Your Twitter Account" United are trying to get in touch with
evilpuppy about it, thanks to people Tweeting and, er, Facebooking (couldn't think of a better verb...) it, and putting it here on LJ. But if this is the training they give to their staff, I think they have a bigger problem.
Of course, that bigger problem is now a few hundred people emailing/Tweeting them to express their disgust...
