Funny how it goes

I just had a small toddler ride his bike into the back of my legs. He immediately fell flat on his face on the pavement and, because I'm English, I started apologising profusely. I know, I know, not remotely my fault, but when a toddler's screaming, you're not really inclined to just shrug and walk off, you know?

His father's un-worried response?

"Not at all, it was entirely his fault, he was being reckless."

So instead of assaulting small children, I was instead the victim of someone driving without due care and attention.

[and yes, he was fine - he didn't even go splat or anything. I think he was more cross than hurt]
