Hola all!
Yup, just when you thought it was safe to log into Livejournal...I'm back! Much the poorer for sending all you lot postcards I might add ;) Hope they all get there.
I am slightly sunburned, well rested and completely knackered from a day that reminded me why I like being on holiday. Full account to follow when I can type without having to backspace over everything three times.
Hope you all are well, and glad to see that the guys in the Midwest are just about keeping your heads above water - we had BBC world news in the hotel room, and I was getting worried!
Am off to watch Doctor Who, but I HAVEN'T SEEN LAST WEEK'S YET so please don't spoil me for it, ta muchly. I have it on the computer for when I'm ready.
After opening my email I'm almost scared to check the flist, so do fill me in on the gossip, news and general ramblings that you've been getting up to this week. I may not notice otherwise...
*waves again* Nice to be back! Mostly...
ETA: *blinks* Just out of interest, I set my flist to "journals only" and flicked back to where I left it. And kept flicking. And kept flicking. No, seriously, further than that. I probably should have stopped at skip=360 but some kind of morbid curiosity kept me going to the nice round number of skip=500.
500??? Guys. How are your keyboards still working?
The best bit? I have no time to read it this evening, this is without the comms, and there will be a flurry of posts after DW tonight, therefore completely flummoxing any chance I might have had of catching up. I knew you guys could talk, but I think you're setting new records...

Date: 2008-06-14 09:35 pm (UTC)Of course, it didn't help that the laundry basket was already full when we went away.
And yes, I've noticed that about desks as well. For such large objects, they hide remarkably well...

Date: 2008-06-14 09:12 pm (UTC)Nothing exciting on my end. I got a new banner (don't click yet, teeny-tiny-minor spoilers for last week's ep, although I seriously doubt you could figure anything out from the banner, but better safe than sorry, right?) and new layout colors, and had a Fandom Traumatization Moment from finding Bertie/Jeeves NC-17 fic. Just the usual. :D

Date: 2008-06-14 09:27 pm (UTC)Ooh, thanks - I shall trot along and look once I've watched :)
And I knew that kind of thing existed thanks to having been so into House - there tend to be Jeeves and Wooster links in the comms, and there's some scary stuff out there...

Date: 2008-06-15 06:11 am (UTC):) Welcome back. So glad you're feeling rested.
Let's see... I managed to pick the lock on my filing cabinet. I made a crown. And amid the destruction in the Midwest, a wind erosion laboratory was blown away by a tornado. o.0 The only thing that has happened here is the corn blowing down. Oh, and I found out that Sandi Toksvig is Danish, which makes last week's News Quiz make so much more sense.
Good luck with the laundry!

Date: 2008-06-15 06:26 am (UTC)Hee, yes, I did thanks. Very exciting :D
Sounds like you've been busy! Glad you got the cabinet open. For real? Cool. *facepalm* That's less than impressive. Glad you've got nothing worse. Hee - yes, I can see how it would!
Thanks! I get the feeling we're going to be living with it for a while to come....

Date: 2008-06-15 06:36 am (UTC)I've been busy, but just with work. Sad to say, the lockpicking was probably my finest moment all week. But. Paperclips. Pretty cool. :)
One of my goals for the week was to take a bunch of notes on your podfics, but I've only just gotten to some today, so my vision of a bunch of comments in your inbox when you returned is delayed a bit. :) But maybe that's good as it can sometimes be overwhelming, that part of post-vacation catch up.

Date: 2008-06-15 06:40 am (UTC)Busy is good, though. I'm determined to get both work and personal stuff done this week - unless I start doing, I'm going to just sink deeper and deeper under the piles of unachieved stuff, and that's no good to anyone.
Hee. I had about 40 messages, which wasn't too bad. 7 of them were from I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER and about 25 were from Big Bang mods - they were very busy without me! But I'd love to hear what you think - there's no such thing as too many comments! Recording more, and recording longer stories, is definitely on my to do list :)
I should say
