One day I will be less distracted by shiny things. Today is not that day

[livejournal.com profile] rustydog!! I've had "That spells DNA" in my head for three days and it's all your fault. As a thank you, allow me to offer you this clip (which I hope you can see!)

Since I was singing it so obsessively, I thought I'd look up the singer, Jonathon Coulter.

That was my first mistake.

His website is great, and he gives away huge amounts of music for free. Yup, download legally, folks. He asks for money if you've got it, or a plug if you don't. I will probably pay for some stuff when I can download onto my own computer, but for now, I'll settle for plugging it.

"That spells DNA" is available for free on his Downloads page, and I'm going to have a fun day exploring everything else that's there. I may never get my life back at this rate...

You know when something happens that just makes you go warm and fuzzy and blush like you're doing a traffic light impression? I love days like that :)

*falls off chair* He has a song about Ikea! I think I may be in love...

And yes, warm and fuzzies are good :D

ETA: the site kills my intarwebs when I try to download :( I can still play the songs though :)

Hmmm....I haven't attempted to d/l anything yet - I'll let you know...

The warm fuzzies are very nice - I tell you what, if I don't get this job, it won't be because of the reference *blushes*

Squeeee, if I have turned you on to Jonathan Coulton, I will consider this day a HUGE SUCCESS. There are usually several free songs at a time on his download page! Off the top of my head, "Skullcrusher Mountain," "Re: Your Brains," "Strollertown," "I'm Your Moon," "Creepy Doll," "Under the Pines" (a love ballad about Leonard Nimoy having an affair with Bigfoot, I kid you not) and "Mr. Fancy Pants" (which I desperately want a multi-Doctors vid to) are all great. Oh! and here's the official vid to "Chiron Beta Prime" which is a hoot with robot overlords.

Ahem. ::stops self:: Sorry. :)

OMG TIGERCUB AND PUPPIES.

You know when something happens that just makes you go warm and fuzzy and blush like you're doing a traffic light impression?

Aw! ::hugs you::

P.S. I had caffeine this morning. That partially explains the bouncing like [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper's elephant...

I haven't managed to D/L anything much yet, but I will when I get home. I'll make those ones top of my list!

The tiger cub is so adorable! Knew you'd like it :)

Hee. Caffeine is fun!

As long as it doesn't make my tummy mad! So far I'm enjoying the high. :)

Awww, baby tiger for the WIN! too cute!

Isn't it? As long as she doesn't try to eat them when she gets a bit bigger, it should be fine...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-20 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
eating mom would be a bad thing... :)

Actually I've heard of these sorts of weird 'adoptions' before, it's usually just fine

Yeah, this may be a bit different, but at Baylor University in Waco (Texas) their live bear mascots are raised with a golden retriever, and bears and dog remain friends for life. Animal kingdom BFFs! (And supposedly the dog acts as a good liason between bears and humans too.)

aww cute! I bet they are imprinted with the dogs being siblings/mom and never realize they aren't

I'll say what did over on [livejournal.com profile] miss_zedem's... Too often 'Code Monkey' is my life. The song circulated very widely when it came out. Apparently it strikes a chord in several people's lives around here.
