Happy Things

I spend a lot of time in this journal moaning, and I'm even starting to annoy myself. Lord knows how you guys put up with me. So. Good things about today.

1. I have new shoes! major_jim and I had a bit of a spree in the Office sale yesterday. He got boots, and I got sandals and some really cute flats. I'm wearing the sandals today, and they seem to be breaking in nicely.

2. My doctor is great. Endlessly encouraging, he listens and takes me seriously, even when I'm being silly. And he called me 'resiliant', which I kind of like.

3. The sun is shining and I am indoors. This is a good thing, since I forgot to take my antihistamine this morning. But it's nice to see the sun.

4. We had a great clear-out yesterday, so that I now only have 9 pairs of shoes. I think I threw out more than that...

5. I wrote a quick Jack-fic yesterday which I'm currently waiting for a beta-verdict on. Even if it sucks and should never see the light of day, I enjoyed writing it.

6. I desperately want to start the next part of my SGA Big Bang. This is a good thing.

7. I have Friday off. 4 day weeks FTW!

8. I've had a good week of eating and should have lost some weight when I go to Slimming World tomorrow. Half a pound would do me - I'm trying on skirts that are too tight to give me some encouragement!

9. I finally got around to watching Doctor Who: Forest of the Dead on Saturday, and really enjoyed it. Reaction post if I can pull my thoughts together later.

10. I made a list of things that are good!

I know some of you are having sucky Mondays - hope the week gets better for you! The rest of you, come on. Tell me what's good about your day.

Resiliant is a good word. And it feels so much better to look in the wardrobe and actually be able to see all my shoes. There are some really pretty ones in there that might actually get worn now!

I read the manual and set the settings and now I believe I can take about 2,000 pictures on the memory card. That should be enough. :)

It's a beautiful summer morning here. I have the day off work and I'm sitting with the porch door open and a big cup of coffee at my elbow.

Yah! for writing hot streaks and wonderful doctors, eating right and days off, new shoes and a closet clean-out!

Hee. When you put it like that it sounds a lot busier than it was! But the writing one is definitely a relief, even if the story has started wandering in its own direction :)
