*Puts happy hat on*

Where is everybody? Ah well, I shall talk to myself like usual.
Today's happy list is below. I thought it was going to be shorter, but then I kept thinking of things! One of the reasons it was going to be shorter is that one of my relatives is suffering badly, health-wise. Those of you who pray, I'd appreciate it.
But I decided that I have happy things, so I would write them down:
1. New shoes! I'm wearing my new canvas flats today, and everyone thinks they're pretty.
2. I walked all the way to work this morning, since I'd remembered to take my antihistamines.
3. It was sunny enough that I felt the need to walk on the shady side of the street, and continues sunny (and showery, but mostly sunny) and windy, which is my favourite kind of weather.
4. Last night's SW was great, and I've lost, so I'm chuffed.
5. My colleague is back from Poland and I'm really happy to see her :) Also, she brought chocolates. I mean, I'm happy to see her anyway, but there is also chocolate.
6. Unexpected morning off! I completely forgot that I'm working late tomorrow, so can spend the morning as I did last week - in Combibos with the laptop, writing.
major_jim wiped my mother's old laptop and rebuit it with about an eighth of the programmes on, so it now runs at a normal speed, rather than that of a sleepy snail. This will definitely help.
7. Following on from that, only one more day of work, and we have a wedding to go to at the weekend, which I always enjoy. Yes, mostly because I get to wear one of my pretty dresses. Yes, I'm shallow. But happy.
8. The Virgin Radio website has some live performances from the Isle of Wight festival. KT Tunstall is alright, but I was rather underwhelmed by most of the others. However, they also have footage from Bon Jovi in Munich, and lots of live clips by The Feeling, who I adore. Definitely worth checking out.
9. My Big Bang story is hitting a sticky patch. This is good news, because it means I'm getting to the heart of the story. Things always go a bit pear-shaped at this point, and I usually have to write and scrap, write and scrap a couple of hundred words a few times, but it's worth it.
10. Nothing to do tonight. Quiet night in. Yay! It was a busy weekend and couple of days, so we definitely need it.
The Photograph meme will stay open for a while. I know what I'm doing for most of them so far, but more suggestions welcome.

Date: 2008-06-25 03:55 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you're feeling melancholy. ::hugs:: The sunny/windy weather sounds nice though, especially if you don't get to experience it too often.
(Missed the part about your relative before. ::thinks lots of good thoughts::)

Date: 2008-06-25 05:19 pm (UTC)The melancholy is just the mid-week blues. Hopefully I can get some good writing down today and tomorrow to give myself a lift, and the four day week is definitely a good thing!
(Thank you! much appreciated)

Date: 2008-06-25 02:59 pm (UTC)Unusual for the deep South, we've had several days of low humidity, which means beautiful deep blue skies and the pleasant kind of hot and sunny summer weather.

Date: 2008-06-25 05:14 pm (UTC)That sounds like the sort of weather we're having. It's lovely - much better than full-on summer heat.
