Random observation

There is nothing wrong with my mood that a live version of Livin' on a Prayer can't put right.

That is all.

ETA: I've been doing the friends-list-trimming thing again. Mostly I just stopped watching communities, but apologies if I cut anyone I shouldn't have done. It's just that I use my flist as a reading list, and am getting swamped again. If I took you off the list and you think it's because I clicked the wrong ticky-box (it happens. frequently) please drop me a line and let me know. Otherwise, it's just that I'm swamped and going insane over here...

DO I ever know that feeling... You have my sympathy.

*g* thaks. It was mostly my own doing, from friending way too many communities, most of which I skip straight past. Since even I can tell this is daft, I've taken them off the list.

The pile of books as high as my head doesn't help the feeling either...

It's better for one's sanity to cut back on the communities sometimes, oh yes ...

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really is, even the SGA ones. My brain does not need more helped to feel overwhelmed!

[identity profile] crystalshard.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes. I can't help but agree about the communities - there are lots, and really all I need to do is watch [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_three anyway.

*nods* It's not like I read much fanfic except off my flist, and I just siphon off the news from TW3. That'll keep me going :)

I didn't really know anything about pop music when I was growing up, but I was familiar with a few of the tunes because we played them at football games in the pep band. "Livin' on a Prayer" was one of my favorites!

I missed Bon Jovi completely the first time round, so it's been fun to find them on Virgin Radio :) And it's an awesome live concert.

For me it was Stan Rogers and "Northwest Passage" - from the end of Due South Season 3.

But yeah. I know what you mean.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
There are some songs that just bypass the brain, aren't there? Sometimes you just need that lift.

I'll look up 'Northwest Passage'. Don't think I know that one...

[identity profile] hellenebright.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Stan Rodgers (who I seem to spell in various ways) was a Canadian writer of folk songs. There's a splendid recording of the song (not by him) here (http://www.youtube.com/my_favorites#).

For me, I think it's partly the association with 'Call of the Wild' the last two episodes ever of Due South. In the course of the episodes, Fraser tells Kowalski the story of the Franklin expedition and the Franklin legend, and at the very end, this (http://www.youtube.com/my_favorites#) happens.

For some reason, I find it very inspiring.

er would you like me to pet you or throw something on your behalf?

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, no more than usual, but thanks for the offer. Had a bit of a 'gah' morning, but Bon Jovi made everything better :)

I'm not sure whether you meant to cut me, but...can I come back? Pretty please? *g*

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-07-26 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
