SGA Big Bang

It is possible that at some point today there will be a coherent post. This isn't it.
SGA Big Bang is live!
My story:
Title: Resonance
[NB there are some coding issues at the moment, since the Mod got things going from VVC - there's a post here on the best way to view it, and I'll be able to post it right here on 25th August]
Rating: PG
Genre: Gen
Warnings/Spoilers: None/Up to and including 'Lifeline'
Summary: As everyone tries to put Atlantis back together again, John has an accident that gives him more of an insight into the city and the Ancients than he ever could have wanted. Unfortunately, this also gives the city and the Ancients an insight into him.

I admit to squeaking aloud when
in_the_bottle chose my story to work on (the summaries were anonymous, so I just got lucky!) and squeaking even louder when I saw the art. It's caught the mood of the story so perfectly, and the cover is just...*loses the ability to speak* It makes me want to print out the story, just so I can put the cover on it.
IMPORTANT: Feed the author! Feed the artist! There is a comm set up for feedback -
sgabigbangfb - and Genie and I both have posts there. My story's one of the shortest in the fest (I love that 45,916 is *short* by these standards!) so come on, give it a go.

If you feel like writing a review of this story for the promo month of September (details here), please do so! I'd love to hear what people think!
In my author notes, I thank
crystalshard and
donutsweeper, who are the fastest betas in the west, and gave up more time than is strictly reasonable to help me out on this. They plugged plot holes, argued with me when I was wrong, and generally got the story into a state that I could submit it. I also need to add thanks to everyone on my first readers list who commented to help me along,
rustydog in particular, who was unfailingly supportive.
But when I say this story wouldn't have happened without
miss_zedem, I mean it literally. The Saturday before the deadline, I'd given up. My 10,000 word draft wasn't awful, but it didn't sing, either, and I needed it to sing. When I told Z this on Yahoo Messenger, she frowned at me and said "so what do you want to write?" I told her I wanted to write something about grief. I wanted to write about what it meant to John to lose Elizabeth. I wanted to write something about John's connection to the city. I wanted to write a teamfic with strong John/Rodney friendship.
"Well," she said, apparently unaware that there were now only 8 days to write 40,000 words, "go write it."
So I did.
She hung in there with me all the way, offering support, advice and the occasional kick up the backside. She's not around at the moment due to BT's ineptitude, but I want to make sure she gets a huge acknowledgement, because this story is almost as much hers as it is mine.
