Today's stupid:
From quiz-show "The Weakest Link":
HOST: In Tolkein's Lord of the Rings trilogy, the third and final book is called "The Return of the" what?
CONTESTANT: Jedi
Major General Charles F. Kuyk jr.: [The Air Force is please with the performance of the C-5A cargo plane, although] having the wings fall of at 8,000 hours is a problem.
Also, Oxford's main shopping street gets more disturbing every day. I understand that everyone has to make a living and that yes, someone probably has to make a living selling eight-foot long, one-foot diameter, sausage-shaped balloons. I understand that two for a pound is a good deal and that in order to get people to buy one, you need to have one blown up and that, if you're holding it, it's going to wave in the air above everyone's heads so that they can see it clear from the other end of Cornmarket.
But, honestly, really and truly, does the balloon have to be pink and ribbed? Seriously? O_O
Proof that the BBC loves me and wants me to be happy: "The Doctor Dances" is available on the iPlayer at the moment. Oh Jack *happy sigh*
