jadesfire: Bright yellow flower (Gives in - Top Gear - Kill me now)

There's a line in an SGA story where Rodney threatens to explode in sheer, bitter fury. It's possible that I identify with him just a little bit too much, but oh good grief I understand the feeling at the moment.

Sometimes I really wish I got writer's block. What I get instead is writer's junk, where I can churn out the words, and it's not that they suck, it's just that they don't say what I thought they were going to say, which is hugely, immensely frustrating. It's also possible that I depend on Z to an unhealthy degree to pull me out of these funks and tell me what I'm thinking, but I absolutely can't write in a vacuum. I need input and I need someone to tell me when I'm wrong and what I need to do instead. *stamps foot* BT, I really, really hate you right now.

I am going to put my writing woes up in [livejournal.com profile] heretoutopia today, so anyone who's on the filter (or wants to be) and wants to wander over and help me wrangle the story into some semblance of order, or just bounce ideas around with me, I'd be more grateful than I can say. Until I get this [livejournal.com profile] artword fic done, I don't think I can start anything else. It's taking over my brain and I need rid of it.

In the meantime, I need to get *something* written, so. Anyone who wants, go check out the prompt list at [livejournal.com profile] bringthehappy and pick one for me. Any fandom you think I might know. I'm in too much of a flail to choose and I write better to order anyway. I can't promise a full ficlet, but drabbles usually get me going again and they're something of a speciality.

Help!

Hmm, how about "Doctor Who; Martha; music" or "SGA; team; hidden skills"?

BT, I really, really hate you right now.

This problem has been going on for quite a long time, hasn't it? Yuck. ::hugs::

I thought I preferred writing in a vacuum but my current experience has made me wonder about that.

Ooh, I'll take both of them, thanks! Drabbles ahoy!

Yeah, the internet thing sucks. It's hard to discuss fic by text, however useful it is...

I definitely don't like writing in a vacuum. I'm a classic extravert and need external input - normally I don't know what I think until I say it to someone! So trying to write on my own just doesn't work. The help is so much appreciated, thank you! :D

*cuddles* I need you too - we may have some co-dependency issues happening here I think...

I'm considering the approach of the Canadian woman if all else fails - according to Yahoo news, she held the engineer hostage until he fixed her broadband :D

*clings* Who cares? We turn out the stories and everyone's happy!

*giggle* Well, that's one approach. Except you have to get them to the house first. Hopefully S will have yelled them into submission by the end of the day. Remind me to email you the edition of the Now Show with Marcus Brigstocke's BT rant once you're up and running again...

Know the feeling. Please tell me when you find the cure, I might actually write decent fic again then...

I don't think there is a cure except to a)keep talking to people who can remind you that you can write and b)keep writing! And you did write decent fic! Did you get it cross-posted? Because it's awesome (you think I'd let you post it/take beta-credit if it wasn't? ;))

I'm bouncing ideas off people, and it's so much help - like getting a breath of fresh air. Definitely recommended.

Crossposted just now, thanks for your help again... you wouldn't have the time to hold my hand about that other TW Wip, too? *puppy dog eyes*

Ugh, fresh air, get enough of that when my bike and me wheeze home ;)

I seem to produce much junk at the moment, and for some reason I just can't see if it's good or not and I always fear it's getting too long in the end.

Sorry, forgot to say yes! absolutely! Send it along and I'll try to do better this time on timing...

Just write and we'll help you work out whether it's good or not. That's all any of us can do!

Also? Your icon? Seriously disturbing... *backs away*

But it's the Three-headed monkey! And he's right behind you! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey_Island_(series)#Pop-culture_references) Will send the file later tonight, might have another look at it. [livejournal.com profile] yuxonomei had a look at it for grammar and spelling, but I'm still not sure it's okay storywise...

Writing breaks my brain, too. Stupid writing. Can't live with it (sometimes) - certainly don't want to live without it! *pats*

Here - because this is something I really, really want to see:

*hug* you are an awesome writer, I have complete confidence in you! Also, could you add me to the filter on heretoutopia? I don't know that I'll be useful, but I'd like to help if I can.
