[This post brought to you by the over-exhuberance of a happy writer]

I'm writing Jack-fic again. I'm trying to remember why I stopped because he's just...there. You know? Like looking for words and finding them, I reach for the character voice, and it just works. It flows and the plot's there and everyone else's voices work better and it just works. I don't even care that the story makes no sense yet. It's going to because it's Jack

*gets comfortable* Oh, I'm going to enjoy this one. I'm...content with my recent pieces, but I don't think I'm as happy with them as I'm going to be with this.

Oh, and I've decided to stay in Last Fic Writer Standing, for this round at least, because Outsider POVs I can *do*. It's all good :)

Anyone else written anything they're really happy with lately? Come and share the bouncing!

I'm working on a 10 Martha fic that I'm pleased with. I've even made some new friends from it which is always a good thing. : )

Now I just need to pick up one of the many unfinished works and get one of those done to be bouncing-off-the-walls happy

Oh cool! I'm looking forward to getting back to the Whoniverse soon, so shall put it on my reading list :) And that's a great way to meet new people!

Hee. Yeah, I keep a WIP along with my inspiration-prompts list, in the hopes that one might help the other...

Hooray!

I'm still fiddling with a story fragment I wrote last saturday - the insomnia seems to give me the perfect Doctor voice ^^

*beams* It's so much fun! Like meeting an old friend again and remembering why you were so close. So. Much. Fun.

Also. Dragons :D

*grins* I'd forgotten how much fun Jack is to write.

Well...at least you're getting something out of it, I guess. Will keep an eye out for it :)

I'm writing something really risky right now. It has the potential to be very cool or go badly, badly wrong. So I can't say on that front, and I'm feeling sadly unbouncy today, but I've been very satisfied with some of my drabbles recently, of which there have been more than I ever expected. :)

I'm so happy that you're reuniting with Jack.

Oh cool! I love that kind of writing - it doesn't really matter whether it works or not, it's the *trying* that matters. And yay for productivity!

*beams* It's awesome! I mean, it's not quite 'Gone With The Wind', running-up-the-path-to-Tara in terms of reunions, but definitely getting-Rose-back-from-the-Daleks standards ;)

It's such a great feeling to be able to write, isn't it? Alas, now I don't have the time for it. And it's one of those fragments I'll probably never finish anyway :/

Yay! Love it when it flows like that, when the character just wants to talk to you. It's always so satisfying!

*bounce* I finally got to one of the main climactic scenes of a long SGA fic I've been working on since January - no action, just a dramatic confrontation, but it works, I think. And it was one of the first scenes I ever had in mind, so finally getting to it feels like an accomplishment (now I just need to get to the END!)

It's just so much fun! It's the first time in ages that a fic hasn't fought back!

WHEEEE! That's so cool! I love that feeling - I usually start with a particular scene in mind and no idea how to get there, and it's so wonderful when you can just feel it click. Good luck with the ending!

Your words fill me with joy. Jack fic! Yes! That's what I want to see.

What I have written lately (mostly drabbles) fill me with moderate joy. I want time to work on my stories in progress. My Jack/John story is stalled... or pausing... and I need to get back to others which I am happy to think about and hoping to finish, like, yesterday.

I'm trying not to be discouraged about my writing. Finishing something will make me feel better about all of it.

Okay, you've been talking about this cracked-out thing you were writing that was supposed to have been a one-shot and then it grew all these huge wild AU tentacles and took over your brain.

And also there was mention of space, and pirates, and ... let's just say it sounds REALLY familiar to me right now, because the thing I'm currently most pleased with is along those lines. But it's Wilson and House, and it's a Black Cigarette Collective project; maybe you've seen it.

It's such a wonderful scary feeling when these insane story ideas just hijack you, isn't it? Like ... can I really get away with this? Am I on crack?

Yeah, I used to love writing Jack, though I never managed much due to work-stuff that was going on. This one (http://tiggs-fics.livejournal.com/32890.html) being my favourite.

I only watched the first series though ;-)

*beams* YAY! Well, I have your prompt to thank for it, so at least we're both happy! I know where it's going and what it's about, so hopefully should have it done tomorrow :)

Moderate joy is better than no joy. And it'd be great to see the Jack/John one finished - finishing things is definitely good for the soul :D

What I'm thinking is that I'll try to finish my Jack/Ianto/Tosh story this weekend, and hopefully that will set me up to finish the Jack/John one - which gets more extensively rewritten every time I touch it.

Looking forward eagerly to your results. Very eagerly.

I want to write a Martha fic too, but I haven't a theme yet. I'm tempted to ask for a prompt myself.

My stories have a habit of hijacking me - my Torchwood epic series was supposed to be a one-shot and (like Black Cigarette) ended up with OCs and other writers and all kinds of things.

The pirate AU one is seriously cracked out. I'm just going to dash off a snippet for the Halloween party, then follow up in December, I think, because I want to make sure I do it justice :D

And it's amazing what you can get away with if you do it with a sincere smile and a sense of drama ;)

Jack is... Probably the closest I'll get to a muse. I have no idea why he works for me, he just does. My favourite Jack is the one I'm writing now - pre-Torchwood, and much fun :)

*giggle* Thanks! It's just such a good feeling after the vague dissatisfaction of the last few weeks :)
