I think the building got teleported to under a waterfall when I wasn't looking. The joy of skylights is that rain sounds really, really loud, especially when it's coming down really, really heavily. I don't think I'm leaving the building today without a canoe and a wetsuit.

Skylights seem to be the thing in library design. Our little town library had an extensive remodel twenty years ago and skylights were put in along with polished metal vanes here and there to increase the natural light. The latter aspect was ultimately moot since the skylights leaked so much they were taken out, along with an entire floor's worth of water-ruined carpet. It was a nice idea done in by using the cheapest possible materials.

I think we've been teleported into a freezer. It was so cold last night I couldn't get warm enough to fall asleep, so I got up and checked the heat. The mister had it turned down so far it was essentially "off," so I sneaked and turned it up a little so that I could stand to sleep without the quilt over my head.

People reading like light. Sadly, that doesn't always go well with books... That sounds like an utter disaster - water's even worse for books than fire :S

Oh noes! I understand the need to save on energy bills, but it sounds a bit too chilly. Brrrr!
