This cannot end well.

I just spent the last 10 minutes watching NCIS clips on YouTube. I'm not totally new to it, thanks to random TV viewing and my flist, but it was so much more fun than I thought it was going to be. The characters are great - McGee is much more fun than I remembered him being, and Abby is all kinds of awesome - and my love for David McCullum still endures. It would be so, so easy to get hooked on this.

Look, brain, I promised Z I'd watch due South, okay? DO NOT WANT ANOTHER FANDOM.

So. Very. Doomed.

I'm going to work on my drabble fest (still open for prompts although expect delays - my comment notifications are non-existent right now) and pretend that I didn't see anything...

ETA: House-fen: If I'm looking to get my House-squee back, and if I happen to have on loan the S3 DVDs, which episodes should I watch. I'm thoroughly spoiled, so don't worry about that, and I want to get my enthusiasm back by watching the good episodes and avoiding the harshing ones. So which should I pick? Help!

*snort* I recently found notes that I'd made for an EPIC CROSSOVER OF DOOM, which I think covered House, SGA, Buffy, Man from UNCLE and Torchwood. Then my brain exploded and I had to give up.

I like your idea better, though, and the thing is? It'd so be possible...

(3-01) "Meaning" There are some very illogical things about this, but I liked it.

(3-02) "Cane and Able" - I liked "Chase and the aliens" but otherwise I think eh.

(3-03) "Informed Consent" This would be good if you like exploration of ethical issues.

50 (3-04) "Lines in the Sand" Interesting Chase backstory and Chase-Cameron interaction; House makes a connection to the patient; Wilson declares House not to have Asperger's.

51 (3-05) "Fools for Love" You see House's tummy! Also features House obsessing over Wilson's love life. I mean obsessing. It's amusing.

52 (3-06) "Que Sera Sera" Eh. I liked the POTW here, but otherwise eh.

53 (3-07) "Son of Coma Guy" Very awesome. I normally hate John Larroquette but he was good here. I think this was the first time "unconditional love" and House's disbelief in it came up.

54 (3-08) "Whac-A-Mole" Anvillicious.

55 (3-09) "Finding Judas" Excellent acting all around.

56 (3-10) "Merry Little Christmas" Best mom of POTW ever; ethical issues everywhere; powerful acting. Not a happy episode but an awesome one.

57 (3-11) "Words and Deeds" Eh. The POTW storyline was stupid.

58 (3-12) "One Day, One Room" NO NO NO NO. I hated this episode. Didn't like the POTW; didn't believe House would act this way. No.

59 (3-13) "Needle in a Haystack" OK. I like the one-time character of Julie Whitner, and there's some good House/Cuddy interaction (plus House in a wheelchair is hot), but overall just OK.

60 (3-14) "Insensitive" I love Wilson in this. Perfect.

61 (3-15) "Half-Wit" Dave Matthews isn't that great an actor, but he's not horrible, and I found the story very interesting. GREAT acting moments for Jesse Spencer, RSL, Hugh Laurie, and Kurtwood Smith.

62 (3-16) "Top Secret" I liked the opening sequence better than anything else in this episode. This is the one with Chase/Cameron makeout scenes, if you're into that.

63 (3-17) "Fetal Position" Nah. Didn't like it.

64 (3-18) "Airborne" Once I got over Wilson seemingly not knowing that House was leaving for Singapore, I liked this a lot. Cuddy comes off as very weak, though.

65 (3-19) "Act Your Age" Liked this one. Lots of Chase and Cameron. Good Wilson-House hijinks, too.

66 (3-20) "House Training" Powerful.

67 (3-21) "Family" House and a dog.

68 (3-22) "Resignation" Watch this one for the "speeeeed" subplot if nothing else. Lots of Foreman.

69 (3-23) "The Jerk" Eh. Not as good as it could've been, but it highlights how important humor is in making us like House as a person.

I have trouble keeping my House love up. There are too many episodes where he crosses the line from clever curmudgeon to arrogant ass. I'll like it for awhile, then see one of those episodes, then get annoyed and step away for a bit and then catch a different episode and like it again...

And there is some really great fic and super awesome crossovers (http://www.glitterati.talkoncorners.net/log/snapshots/ncissga-highly-classified-and-very-hush-hush/) with SGA and it is just a fun show, one which you watch because it's FUN and REALLY NOT ALL THAT ANGSTY and there are good arcs but also great episodes that stand on their own. NCIS is made entirely of win, but I haven't felt the urge to get into the fandom yet. I checked out a few comms, read a couple of fics, but found I didn't really like Tony, who I adore in the show, and that kind of put me off a little. It's one of those things that doesn't seem to translate very well onto the page.

(But I'm willing to be persuaded on this one, so if you do get into it and you find some good!fic, then let me know :D)

Bwhahahahahahahaha!!!!

NCIS is awesome. And a very laid back low-key fandom, here on LJ anyway.

I have trouble keeping my House love up. There are too many episodes where he crosses the line from clever curmudgeon to arrogant ass. I'll like it for awhile, then see one of those episodes, then get annoyed and step away for a bit and then catch a different episode and like it again...

I get the impression that NCIS is a happy fandom, much like the show :) I don't think I get the choice about delving into it.

See, I like House as an arrogant ass, and tend to be drawn more to those episodes. I'm going to follow [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry's guide above and try to catch up a little. We'll see what happens...

OMG YES YES YES START WATCHING NCIS NOOOOOOOW. Look (http://roga.livejournal.com/117887.html) how AWESOME (http://www.tvsquad.com/2008/11/18/five-reasons-why-its-cool-to-like-ncis/) it is. Watch! And I will be full of yay for more converts!

Still. You promised me due South! *kicked puppy impersonation*

*g* I think it'd be nice to watch a show without feeling the need to plunge into fanfic and stuff. Although if you want recs, donutsweeper may have some.

*pets you* I know! I promised! It'll happen, I swear. Just...give me a chance to catch up, 'kay? ;) Too. Much. Fandom...
