I'm away from the computer for barely 36 hours, and what do I come back to find? skip=160, that's what I come back to.

*blinks* I'll try not to take it personally that you all get chatty while I'm away...

Weekend was great, Sheffield was wet but nice, dinner was lovely, tired Jades is tired. Yes, LOL speak is about my level right now, but that could be because I got up on Saturday morning, edited my Yuletide fic and submitted it, edited my [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa fic and submitted it, packed, went to the recycling centre then drove (was driven if you want to get technical...) to Sheffield, where we did battle with the one-way system, did some last minute shopping then went to a dinner for 9.

Then we drove to the Travelodge, slept, had coffee with J's grandparents, then drove home again, where we are attempting to rescue the flat from under a pile of stuff and do some present-wrapping.

If no one needs me for a few hours, I'll be cleaning the bathroom before getting in the bath and trying not to drown.

*waves blearily* Nice to see you all. Will catch up tomorrow, including an update about the one-way system from hell and the dangers of service station lavatories.

How was everyone's weekend? Anyone finished working yet? Killed any relatives yet? On that subject, dead Yuletide writers, please raise your hands...

Haven't killed anyone. Been to the in-laws outside Bristol and been overfed to the point of explosion, but otherwise a peaceful, restful weekend.

Won't it be kind of hard for the dead to raise their hands? *g*

My goodness, but you've been so busy! I'm not finished working (must go in one of my off days for the next two weeks -- oh, joy), and am avoiding relatives as much as possible until Christmas eve.

Hee. We had a teacher who always used to start classes with "anyone who isn't here, say so now." It seems to have stuck...

Argh! It has been a busy 2 days, but mostly in a good way. Having to go into work sounds like less fun, even if it might help you avoid the relatives ;)

What's the one-way system?

I've work for the next two weeks but them am done, because of giving notice *eep*

there was consci_fan_mo which got a lot of posts, so maybe that accounts to so many skips on your flist?

The one-way system is kind of what it sounds like. In a lot of towns/cities, there are lots of restrictions on roads so that you can only drive in certain directions around them. In most cities, this leads to eventually being directed out of the city, usually to a ring road of some kind. In Sheffield, we seemed to be stuck in some kind of moebius loop, just going round and round and round...

Hope your last two weeks aren't too bad!

Yay Yuletide! Yay SGA Santa! You rock, and are quite obviously made of win. Congratulations! Don't drown in the bath!

I survived two days of the HUGE GIANT CROWDS of Jump Festa where I got to see my favorite manga-writer live! Wearing an elephant hat! It was AWESOME! He's someone whose story I've loved and admired for five years, so it's really difficult to explain just how much his appearances meant to me.

I also survived two days in Tokyo, which is an incredibly overwhelming and big city. Big, big, big, BIG. I'm glad to be back in Kyoto. ♥
