I've created this post to bring all the stories in "The Waiting Years" together, and hopefully make them easier to find. You can read them in any order you like – they more or less stand alone – but they might work better in the order I wrote them!

Comments and concrit are always welcome, no matter how old the story is. Hope you enjoy.

The Waiting Years I: Lost and Found Everyone needs somewhere to belong, even Jack. (~2500 words)
The Waiting Years II: Coming Back Working for Torchwood doesn't exactly turn out as Jack had hoped. (~9200 words)
The Waiting Years III: Shangri-La Jack, a car, a driver and a rainy night in Wales. What could go wrong? (~3400 words)
The Waiting Years IV: The Shape of Things When several RAF officers are attacked, Torchwood is called to investigate. (~9200 words)
The Waiting Years V: Promise In a tight corner, Jack always has a plan. (~3900 words)
The Waiting Years VI: Jack, the Weevil and Me Life is never dull when Jack comes to town. (~6400 words)

Hey, I'm a friend of minervasolo's, she linked me to your awesome fic! Torchwood fic is rare enough, GOOD Torchwood fic is almost nonexistant, so thanks!

Loved the Buffy crossover, can't wait for the Spike/Jack interlude, write moooore! Do you know any other good sites/authors that are of a Torchwood persuasion?

Will be around, good to know you!

Why thanks!

Hmmmm...depends what you're looking for...

[livejournal.com profile] crystalshard writes great stuff, as does [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now (torchwood vs the shopping channel is priceless). [livejournal.com profile] moviegrrl has got a really good ongoing series at the moment that I'd definitely recommend. [livejournal.com profile] nnwest has got some great stories, as well as more recs. If you want a daily update of fic, [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_three is the place to go.

Glad you enjoyed these - I still can't get Jack and Spike to behave themselves, so Bonus Track 2 may take a while. Nice to meet you!

Wow, that was an amazingly fast reply! Thanks for the recs, if Jack and Spike give you too much trouble, try threatening them with suspension of Trenchcoat Priviledges. Good luck!

Thanks for putting this in one place -- I hadn't read half of it.

This is such beautiful work! It's gracefully written and manages to deliver real emotional punch without resorting to operatics. I really, really love it.

Have had a wonderful time working my way through your Waiting Years stories. I enjoy the way you have Jacks voice down pat and your words make the other characters come to life
Looking forward to the Wandering years :-)

Gosh, thank you so much - what a lovely comment! I'm about halfway through The Wandering Years and hopefully the Discworld stories have broken my writer's block. I still aim to get them published by the end of April...hopefully...

Jack's voice is always so clear in my head (worryingly so ;)) that it's good to know it works for other people as well. Thanks!
