jadesfire: Bright yellow flower (CM - animated - so life like)
[personal profile] jadesfire
Good grief, it's treacherous out there. Hundreds of feet have pounded the snow to the consistency of extra-slippery ice, with the added bonus of getting soaked if you trip. With my black-belt in klutziness, I had to be extra careful getting round corners.

Oh, and it turns out my boots aren't completely waterproof. Lovely.

Anyhoo, it's all starting to melt now, which adds grey slush into the equation, not to mention all the droplets falling from the trees. So I thought I'd post these final pictures of our snowman. (I'm the one in blue). The poor thing is on a slow nose dive towards the tarmac now, so I'm glad we got these pictures right away!

Awesome, awesome snowman, and I so hear you about packed snow. We can't get all the way up our drive so we're parked at hte bottom and I had to walk down yesterday and nearly killed myself and my husband.

BUT!

We got out and saved someone else from being killed.

Heh, that picture makes him look cuter than he was. There's something slightly disturbing about his mushroom eyes...

We had too much fun!

Yeah. I'm about to leave for home, assuming I don't go head over heels on the way.

SNOWMAN. Awesome.

And yeah, got to hate the compacted ice on the pavements. I went over on my arse yesterday. Fun times!

The eyes are all kinds of scary. Especially when later in the day, one fell out and someone put it back wonky

I am still amused by all the Brit posts squeeing about the snow. You're all so sweet with the White Stuff :)

Hee. It's 20 years since we really had snow like this, and it only ever lasts a few days. Our last semi-heavy snowfall (when I built my first snowman!) was 2 years ago, and that was gone within 24 hours. A cold snap like this is all kinds of exciting :D

Ooooh, awesome snowman. Although the mushroom eyes are faintly disturbing.

And I understand completely about the packed snow. It was likew a skating rink outside for a couple of days - and while I can ice skate, I prefer to use blades and not trainers!

It took me forever to get home last night, and it turns out leather boots aren't great for deep slush :S I'm wearing walking boots today!

I'd go out and repair the snowman this morning, but it's coming down in drifts and I already got soaked on my way in. And it just keeps coming down...

Snowman! I loves him, even down to his mushroom eyes.

And as for snow footwear, I've discovered Big Goth Boots are a godsend as they're so damn heavy your feet don't want to leave the ground and slip *and* you're raised above any potential puddles!

*giggle* The eyes are *very* disturbing, but much fun.

That sounds like the best kind of plan. I wore my walking boots this morning which were much more up to the job. Considering we had about another inch fall while I was walking to work, that's a very good thing!
