Slip Slidin' Away

Good grief, it's treacherous out there. Hundreds of feet have pounded the snow to the consistency of extra-slippery ice, with the added bonus of getting soaked if you trip. With my black-belt in klutziness, I had to be extra careful getting round corners.
Oh, and it turns out my boots aren't completely waterproof. Lovely.
Anyhoo, it's all starting to melt now, which adds grey slush into the equation, not to mention all the droplets falling from the trees. So I thought I'd post these final pictures of our snowman. (I'm the one in blue). The poor thing is on a slow nose dive towards the tarmac now, so I'm glad we got these pictures right away!

Date: 2009-02-05 07:29 pm (UTC)And I understand completely about the packed snow. It was likew a skating rink outside for a couple of days - and while I can ice skate, I prefer to use blades and not trainers!

Date: 2009-02-06 09:21 am (UTC)I'd go out and repair the snowman this morning, but it's coming down in drifts and I already got soaked on my way in. And it just keeps coming down...

Date: 2009-02-05 10:33 pm (UTC)And as for snow footwear, I've discovered Big Goth Boots are a godsend as they're so damn heavy your feet don't want to leave the ground and slip *and* you're raised above any potential puddles!

Date: 2009-02-06 09:21 am (UTC)That sounds like the best kind of plan. I wore my walking boots this morning which were much more up to the job. Considering we had about another inch fall while I was walking to work, that's a very good thing!
