Are there any Numb3rs fans out there? Is there a resource/research comm that I can use to find out the things that Wiki won't tell me? I've tried all the usual searches but nothing's really coming up. Never mind. This site just gave me the dates I needed :)

I watch the show when I happen to be sitting on the sofa and it happens to be on TV, but I don't follow it closely. So why am I contemplating writing a crossover?

A crossover with what?

Criminal Minds. It's one of those blindingly obvious crossovers when you know both fandoms, but there are surprisingly few of them out there.

I also just rediscovered my Google-fu and a good source so am going to edit the post accordingly. :)

The first CM episode I saw, when they were getting on a plane to go somewhere else? I thought it was going to turn out to be a crossover with Numb3rs. Which I have seen about 1/2 times. :)

I like it the way you do, on a casual basis. Now I know I have a Numb3rs fan on my flist, but unfortunately her list of interest and/or watched communities doesn't really offer any help either. Sorry.

It's not so strange to contemplate writing a crossover with a casual fandom... That's how I ended up writing a Stargate SG-1 crossover way back -- because something about the premise just fit with what I wanted to do.

No worries. I think I've got most of what I need - I'm not taking a Numb3rs character for the POV, and I can hear the voices well enough to replicate them. Hopefully! thanks, though.

Yeah, it's something I've been meaning to do for a while, but a prompt at the Gen battle gave me the nudge I needed. Should be interesting...

Well, it has a lot of the characteristics we all love(d) about SG:A -- great team dynamics, a leader with a heart, a wonderfully quirky couple of very brainy guys and a strong sense of family. So I'm not surprised you want to write about it.

I watch it fairly regularly because my son loves the math puzzles and records it so he can rewatch and try to figure them out.

Heh, definitely. It's probably not a coincidence that all the shows I enjoy watching most (without necessarily being fannish about) are on CBS - Criminal Minds, NCIS, the CSIs. I used to love Without a Trace but lost track of it, and have heard good things about The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and The Mentalist. I wonder if I could subscribe from the UK. ;)

Oh yes, the maths is always so much fun on Numb3rs. My other half mostly watches to poke holes, but it's endlessly entertaining nonetheless. And there are some interesting character parallels with Criminal Minds that I want to prod at...

Because it's got the gorgeously hunky Colby? *grins* A CM/Numb3rs xover is really obvious, like you say. It would be fun to watch the war of genius would it be a 'brain-off'? (bit like a dance off but with the brainiac types and omg i have an image of dancing brains now *rolls eyes*). Still, I imagine the CM lot would be fascinated by Charlie's methods.

I only really started to 'get into' the show around the start of season 3 but I've never written a fic. I'm currently trying to write a Colby centric fic (or possibly a crossover) but my muse is being really uncooperative *pouts*.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

OH, I love Numb3rs...it's a great show. And I'd love to read one of your CM cross overs because that show is good too. =D
