jadesfire: Bright yellow flower (Text - deep need to complain)

I hate having my morning routine interrupted. *sigh* Things went rapidly downhill after my earlier post, mostly because my other half got up and human interaction was required.

After we'd stitched his head back on where I bit it off, he drove me into town for the blood test. Have I mentioned before how awesome my doctor's surgery is? Not only did the nurse see me early, she picked up at once how scared I was, and was...not sympathetic, exactly, just. Understanding. I HATE needles so very much, but I can handle it if the person wielding it just gets on with things. I had a nightmare at one blood test where the nurse basically mocked me for it and got me so wound up that I couldn't hold still enough for her to take any blood and when she did it hurt. So. Yeah. Nice nurse=very good things.

But with my eating routine thrown like that, I've been off-kilter all morning. Tired and grumpy and not really able to concentrate. Grrrr.

But. Lists have helped this week, so let's keep at it:

- Receive books
- Invoice grids
- Croatian orders
- FMP spreadsheet
- Birthday present for L
- Book coffee dates
- Check if J booked car service
- Photo booking?
- tardis_bigbang
- New mood theme
- Go through wardrobe
- Ask about gecko-lib at Aspire users' forum
- Fic comm @ DW?

I had a nurse once say to me that the best nurses are not sympathetic, they are empathetic. It stuck with me :) *hugs*

*nods* that's a very good way of putting it. I don't need sympathy - everyone who's scared of something knows it's irrational, and I don't need pandering to, just understanding. The practice nurse is definitely very empathetic :)

*leans* Is it time to go home yet?

You need a security blanket like this one:

I think it would help.

*sends you virtual peanut butter cookies and orange juice* I hope the tests turn up something that can be fixed.

Your experience with needles reminds me of my son, who hates them so much that he fought off a doctor, three nurses and me when he was six years old and weighed about 35 pounds. Once we finally got him pinned to the table, I had to yell at the nurse to "Stop dicking around and get it over with!" We are, to say the least, still memorable at the doctor's practice. :)

Me too! But even if they don't, that's kind of an answer in its own way, so I'm fine with that.

Oh good grief :S I'm not quite that bad! Not quite ;)

At least you got it over with. And now, with any luck, they should be able to figure out how to balance your body chemistry better.

Glad it's over with.

Corgigirl's comment reminds me of when my, then, 4 yr. old son had to be held down whilst removing a shard of glass from his little foot and then having the open cut stitched closed.

I never knew a little four year old could fight so hard! =O

ETA: too many typos...sorry
