We're back! For those who aren't on Twitter - I love being able to post to it from my phone! - on Saturday morning, I was whisked away on the Eurostar to Lille for the weekend, which was just awesome. I have photos and stuff of course, but we only got back at midnight last night and my brain still isn't working properly. Once I've had some coffee, I shall tell you all about it.

In the meantime, what did I miss? Did anyone break anything? I've got some superglue around here somewhere, and there's always string in the kitchen drawer. When I'm suitably caffeinated, I shall probably try to get back to Friday night and catch up *pauses for hysterical laughter*, but I'm bound to miss something, so please drop in and say hi. [ETA: So, it turns out that skimming to avoid spoilers means my flist feels really, really quiet] I'm not caught up on Torchwood yet, so no spoilers, thanks - I've got today off, so once the case is unpacked, I can settle in with the computer and the iPlayer :)

*waves madly* I had a fabulous time, but it's nice to be home ♥

Eurostar and Lille and sekkrit trip sounds like it should be awesome - I'm glad it was! Yay!

Did anyone break anything?

(That's my own hysterical laughter you hear) If only that were not literally true.

I got your postcard from Manchester! It brightened up an otherwise stinky week and made me squee a lot.

Welcome home!

Oh hon, I saw your posts *hugs you* Glad you got it sorted (go you, btw!). You didn't break it, it broke - whole other thing ;)

Am dealing with burglary trauma fallout (coping well at the time = meltdown weeks later, apparently) but should be back properly later. Also, it's really hard when there are so many Torchwood spoilers out there! *reads internet with one hand over eyes*

Trip was awesome, though, and it's nice to be home :)

It's nice to be back, thanks.

Although it breaking caused me to make another stupid mistake with more lasting fallout that is far from sorted. But at least I have no one to blame but myself, I suppose. I'm so sorry about the burglary trauma. ::hugs and blankets::

I actually groomed my LJ reading list to try to protect myself from TW spoilers. It's extreme, but I don't need *that* stress too!

If your f-list is anything like mine, it has been very quiet. All the Americans were gone for the Fourth of July weekend and are just now staggering back in, dazed, sunburned and overfed.

I still need your address so I can send Oscar your direction. :-)

And on that note I must be going; getting ready to begin that new mural job today.

See, now you're blaming yourself for stuff that you didn't do! Or stuff that *happened* to you. It's a whole other thing :)

Heh, I just scrolled really really fast. Normally I don't care about spoilers, but I'm...sensitive...about Torchwood in many ways that I'm not about other fandoms, so I'm being at least a little careful. And my flist rock with spoiler cuts \o/

*snuggles in* Yeah, it's funny how these things catch up to you. The insurers are in touch at the moment, and I think it's just brought it all home. I feel better for having it out of my system, but kind of whacked as well! Why is stuff that's good for us so tiring?

BTW, I keep meaning to introduce you to [livejournal.com profile] blackmare_9, if you don't already know her. She paints beautiful pictures in general, and specifically of animals (especially horses) that I thought you'd like :) *points down screen* She f-locks some stuff, but there's plenty of pretties in public posts that I often think are your kind of thing :)

Ah, of course. I'm sunburned and just fed enough, so at least I didn't miss too much on my surprise holiday :)

Once I've got Paypal sorted I'll send it to you - I kind of feel I should pay you before you commit to anything! I'm waiting for the 'verification' payments to hit my account, then it should all be fine :)

Hope the job goes well today!

*hugs* Glad you had a fun time!

Nothing terribly exciting has happened in my neck of the woods, although I (being a baby writer) am learning that herding plot bunnies is rather like herding cats. I have a feeling that this realisation gets me a pat on the had and an 'isn't she cute' from everyone else in the world but hey, it's news to me.

I did spend maybe fifteen minutes after I nominally went to bed writing down an idea in my notebook for one of the stories that is actually on my 'active' list. And whilst scribbling madly I was struck that it really is quite amazing to watch words form on the page in response to my pen. Isn't it neat!

That is such a good question! And yeah, I was afraid the break-in sounded like the kind of thing that might sneak up on a person later as well. ::passes the tea::

::goes to look:: Oscar is there! Squee. Pretty animals.

*hugs* Hey, hon! Glad you had a good time, you deserved a nice weekend away. Lille sounds lovely, I can't wait to hear all about it.

I still owe you a weekend away as well, if I recall correctly.

I might pat your hand in sympathy, because we've all been there. And I know what you mean about watching yourself write. Whenever I'm blocked, I go back to hand-writing instead of typing, and the physical process usually does the trick.

I haven't had a chance to reply to your long comment at your journal yet - let me know if I can actually help! Otherwise, I shall watch out for fic appearing ;)

Lille was awesome, and we have lots of photos, although many of those are of animals - the zoo there is very good :D

Heh, I'd forgotten about that! Looking at my diary...er...are you free in November? ;) Or maybe we could descend on Cardiff *looks round for Z*

I do need a prompt from you :)

Thank you very kindly for your offer! I do appreciate it! I don't think I need anything right now, although I will let you know if that changes. I do very much appreciate your reading and responding and letting me ramble at you (although how I think you could stop me when I was rambling in a comment pane in a computer which is not in your physical presence I don't actually know, but I appreciate it nonetheless!). Take as long to reply as you will-- or don't reply if that's the way of it-- 'tis all good. (Plus, I'm not sure how much is *replyable* versus just 'yes I did read you')

Any road, I did just put up another massive tl;dr post, this time on how I accidentally wrote a first draft of a prompt that isn't even on the Big List O' Cliches but still manages to meet the prompt it should have been (four times over, even) even though the prompt I was writing to is one I thought I couldn't. I'm not positive that sentence makes sense but that's probably because I'm not sure it actually makes sense in the first place. Anyway, I think the entire post is terribly funny. And I am pleased that I do have words of some sort down. So life is reasonably happy.

*pokes diary* November looks good to me. Any preferences? It might be nice to do something a little more structured than wombling around in search of coffee shops :) Theatre, concert, museum, Madame Tussauds, shopping, theme park . . . ? My treat.
