Why did no one tell me in REALLY SMALL WORDS so I could understand just how awesome The Sarah Jane Adventures are? Seriously, I've only seen the pilot, the first part of "The Wedding of Sarah Jane" and the first fifteen minutes of "The Eternity Trap Part 1" (spoil me and die, kaithx) and I am absolutely in love with it. Clyde is my favourite so far, although Luke and Rani are close behind.

Although, note to self: You can watch most things without getting too bothered by them, but haunted houses freak you out. Please try not to scream too loudly in the staff room in future.

Also, when I told my manager what I was watching, she went "ooh, the new episode is on on Friday. We've got the recorder set." I already thought she was great, but now I have it confirmed!

Damn. This means I have a new interest to seek out icons for...

I watch it as well. My kids are hooked. It's okay but sometimes I have to remember it's aimed at kids.

*nods* You definitely have to suspend disbelief with the special effects, but overall, I think I could really grow to love this series :)

I watch almost no TV and get everything through the iPlayer. I was looking for something to watch in the bath last night and it was easy and non-challenging and wonderful for just a complete break from RL. Overall, I think I could really get into this series :)

I actually watch almost no actual TV these days appart from breakfast news in the morning:O I live almost exclusively off downloads/online streaming and dvd buy/rental...

Which is weird. I used to watch anything up to 12 hours of "live" tv every day.. shows how much you change as you get older:D plus th eawesome poer of the internet.. which allows you the concious ability to choose:)..

I know what you mean. I used to set my video obsessively for everything I wanted to watch. Nowadays, I just go online to see it - between the iPlayer and 4OD, there's not much I can't get.

Choosing what you want is so brilliant, and I love that when someone says "this show is cool", I can just go watch it and make up my own mind. I don't have to scour the TV schedules and desperately hope a UK channel picks it up.

Also, let's hear it for DVDs. Now all I have do is find the time to transfer my ENORMOUS video collection across!

I didn't want to watch it... Then I didn't want to like it... Then I didn't want to be someone who downloaded it... Then I just gave up. :) Series 2 was a bit slow. But this season, it's been great fun. And I adore Sarah Jane's boots! *covets them like whoa*

*giggle* Ah, it's one of those series, is it? It's going to take me a forever to catch up, but I'm going to try to stay up to date on the iPlayer as much as I can.

I didn't notice her boots this time around, but I'll be sure and look out for them next episode!

Seriously? Have I not mentioned it? I guess I do most of my discussing elsewhere, but I can't believe Rusty hasn't posted publicly about it.

It doesn't give me the urge to discuss and dissect in the way that Doctor Who does, but it's fun and it's positive and life-affirming, and since I seem to have given up on Torchwood because it's none of those things (at least for me), I enjoy it quite a lot. And I can watch it with the kids. :D

Clyde is made of win. *nods firmly*

I think people have posted about it, but not in a "you must watch this because you will love it" kind of way. So yes, I'm totally blaming you guys for my slowness :P

One of the things I'm loving about it is the...IDK...classicness of it. It's old-fashioned adventure stories, and none the worse for it. Also, it seems to be doing *fun* things with old cliches, which is always something I can get behind :)

Yes! I think it has that in common with the old series, and at the same time I think it does a great job with the emotional content, issues that would concern Sarah Jane and issues the teenagers deal with, real issues, but not dealt with in too dark a way.

Plus, as a fan of Sarah Jane from the classic series, I really appreciate how they've been faithful to her character and her history, while letting her grow as a person/character too.

I was wondering about that one! I had considered grabbing it last year and giving it a try, but I forget why I didn't. So, is it just good ol' fashioned fun? :D

It's very old fashioned fun! There are moments where you have to remember that it's a kids' show, but in general, the characters are well drawn and the acting is decent. And it has K9. What more could you want?

It is amazing. *grins*

Most of my friends think me crazy for running home to watch something on CBBC, but it really is worth it!

(Also, K-9 is back, and that makes me so unbelievably happy that words do not cover it.)

I did post about it! Back in the first season, I'm sure I did. But nobody else was watching, I guess, and nobody wanted to talk to me about it, so I gave up.

I'll never say "you must watch this" because I just can't be sure other people will have the same opinion as me. I don't even like recommending things, because if I love it and get somebody to watch it, but they dislike it, I feel embarrassed and guilty. So the most you'll get from me is "I love this!"

But I do love it! And I'm glad you're enjoying it too! If I thought anybody would want to talk about it, I'd post to my journal. :)

ETA Lots and lots of icons here - series 1 and series 2. They're all textless "base" type icons but it's quite comprehensive.

Gnine has been flailing to me about how adorable it is (she says the hug-count is higher than Who's...!) and I tend to love kid's stuff, so guess I should check it out?
