This post brought to you by my new iPod touch and no coffee yet (which explains the lack of content, sorry). I probably won't be able to catch up properly today, so I hope everyone's well and I'll see you soon :-)

*tacklehug* HI! HI YOU!

(I was actually genuinely worried you were going to be trapped FOREVER what with the failiness of England vis-a-vis dealing with SNOW and transport /o\)

(Okay, maybe not 'forever', but at least until the snow melted and south-east England started moving again...)

Also, your parcel arrived and you weren't here for me to squee at and say THANK YOU! *twirls you*

Ahem. Good holiday? *hugs*

Oomph *falls over* :D

Y HALO THAR U!

We were a bit worried about the transport thing too, but apart from GINORMUS piles of snow at Gatwick, everything seemed to be running pretty well. Just glad we weren't trying to get to Heathrow, which was shut :S

Woot! I'm glad it got there through the weather!

Very good holiday, thanks. More soon *hugs tight* It's also nice to be back :D

Hee. I'm impressed there was one of the major airports open - on the news there've been lots of images of Londoners being confused by the weather, so I wasn't sure what was happening. Of course, we still have none - the BBC showed a satellite image of Britain last week and it's almost entirely white, other than a teeny tiny patch around Plymouth. We've had about four flakes of the stuff, while the rest of the country's had about four feet...

In other news, I wroted fic! All by myself without you to hold my hand *is proud* We won't talk about the fact that I drafted in three of my flist to help me kick it into shape in your absence :S

So are you at home today, or back in work already? Lots to catch up on either way, I imagine *plays icon snap*

Awwwww... Oxford is absolutely covered. Everything looks very pretty, apart from the slushy bits, but the pavements are not so good - the slush has frozen, making it as slippery as an ice rink. I got into work, although it took me about twice as long as usual (boo :() the main question now is whether I go to London tonight or not...

Woot! Nice to know that I'm not easily replaced ;) And go you \o/

Lots and lots, but I think I should probably do some work at this point. It's a bit of a shock to the system after nearly 3 weeks off!

I've been nagging S for us to take a train trip somewhere where there's snow (ie everywhere other than here), but sadly the south west deals with snow even more badly than the south east, so our options have been limited. I'm hoping it lasts until the weekend so we can maybe get somewhere once they defrost the trains...

I'm not convinced London sounds like the best plan, given how things have been the last week. Not that I'm doubting the train operators' ability to get you there and back in a timely fashion - well, actually that's exactly what I'm doing. Is the place you go to even open? So many colleges were closed last week cos they were paranoid about getting sued if someone fell over.

It's most unreasonable, them expecting you to work when you come back from holiday. Can't they see you have other, more important things to be doing? ;)

I hope you get some snow soon. The trains do seem to have come to something of a halt, but I'm planning on getting to London by bus, and most of the roads are clear. I'll check at lunchtime, but honestly? Half a day of work (okay, mostly work, some LJ *ahem*) and half a day of sitting on a bus playing with my new iPod and fixed laptop doesn't sound so bad right now. From the website, the University of Westminster is open, and if I catch a really early bus, I might have time to see if Liberty's/John Lewis have the dregs of their sale still going and pick up some cheap yarn. It's not all bad ;)

Right. I should probably do some more work now, shouldn't I? Maybe more coffee first...

Also, from a totally selfish viewpoint, if you're on a bus with nothing better to do for a couple of hours, can I point you in this (http://community.livejournal.com/sg_flyboys/28862.html) direction then? Not that I have dependancy issues in any way, of course, but I generally feel better once you've told me what you think of things...

Coffee first though. Always coffee first :)

HI!

Coffee sounds like a brilliant idea. *wanders off in search of coffee and also possibly content*

I absolutely adore it, but it has one feature that's driving me insane. With my old player, when I turned it off, it would remember what I'd just been listening to and start up that track again. The Touch doesn't seem to do that (unless I'm doing something wrong), which doesn't matter too much with music, but with audiobooks?

In.Sane. *prods it* There has to be a way round that...

If you shut it off mid-book it picks it back up but you're right, otherwise I'm not sure it does. There has to be a way around that. I haven't listened to many podcasts or audiobooks so it hasn't been an issue with me.

Have you explored what free apps there are?

I think part of the problem is that they're not actual audiobooks - they're just an album of tracks :S Might have to look into that one.

So far, I have a sudoku app and an ebook reader. On my 'to do' list is "ask people what apps I should get" ;) But I feel like my feet have barely touched the ground since before Christmas and LJ has got lost somewhere. I miss you guys! *clings*

the ebook reader Stanza? I like that one. Making a post asking what people use is a good idea.

We've missed you too!
