Is there more coffee?

I am not feeling particularly awesome today. Mostly, I am cold, tired and hungry (I just ate, so am waiting for it to kick in). And a little grumpy, but that's just randomised stress that I can't seem to get rid of.
Despite this, today I am awesome because I cycled all the way to work in 21 minutes. And that included two nose-blowing stops, because damn, it's cold out there. Also, I am awesome because I got coffee from the staff room without getting cake as well. That's been one of my big blind-spots lately, I think. I'll help myself to a piece at morning break, then another at lunch, then completely forget about them and have another with afternoon break. I think. It's hard to tell, since I tend to forget! So the plan down to Easter is not to have the cake at all, which will be horribly hard, but then I can go back to having it after Easter once I know I'm in charge, not it! I will be master of my own cake consumptions! Mwahahahaha *cough*
Thanks for all the recipes yesterday, guys. Between you and the BBC Good Food magazine, I fully intend to eat well over the coming months :)

Date: 2010-03-04 07:59 pm (UTC)I was awesome yesterday for the amount of research I did for the fic I'm working on (it would have been great if I'd been able to write on it today, but we take our awesomes where we can).
I'm not sure if I'm awesome for the ridiculous amount of bunnies my brain is producing but I'm definitely awesome for remaining sane in the face of their rampant reproducing.
Re: Cake - if you have a tendency to forget maybe limit it to the depressing work days (which for me used to be Monday and Thursday for some reason), obviously after you've achieved your goal of no cake til after Easter ;) But it'd be very easy to fall back into the same thing so while you're surviving each break with resisting, you need to be coming up with a plan for when you allow yourself to have that treat ;) Oh, what about a sticker chart, a little gold star or smiley face for every break you survive and then a reward when you survive so many? Why yes, we do have a small child around, what gave it away? lol.
Well done on your continued resistance, it's made even more awesome because it's probably even more tempting when you're not feeling so great. Well done :) Also, the cycling thing is brilliant too...haven't ridden a bike in...well, forever... I'd probably fall off without stabilisers lol. I have a mobility scooter though, does that count? *grins*.
